Description We are offering an Automation Engineer a long-term contract employment opportunity in Allentown, Pennsylvania. As part of our team, you will have the opportunity to apply your strong computer skills, engineering knowledge and programming abilities in a role that is critical to our operations.
Responsibilities
• Programming devices such as reclosers and cap banks on the distribution line to support new installations and equipment updates.
• Ensuring effective operations by troubleshooting device communications.
• Applying your engineering expertise to remotely control and adjust our systems.
• Keeping our systems up-to-date and efficient by programming for new installations.
• Using your strong computer skills to maintain and improve our operations.
• Applying your communication skills to address customer enquiries and provide accurate information.
• Maintaining accurate records and monitoring customer accounts to ensure optimal service delivery.
• Applying your skills in mathematics and computer sciences to enhance our operations.
• Ensuring consistent attendance to fulfill your role effectively.
• Participating in initial training to understand our unique systems and operations. Requirements • Proven experience as an Automation Engineer or similar role
• Excellent communication skills to relay complex information clearly
• Demonstrable ability to manage operations and streamline processes
• Strong troubleshooting skills, with an ability to solve problems efficiently
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Sciences or a related field
• Regular and punctual attendance, demonstrating strong detail-oriented ethics
• Proficient in programming languages such as Python, Java, C++
• Advanced computer skills including knowledge of software, hardware and networks
• Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts related to engineering
• Willingness to undertake initial training and continuous learning as required
