Automation Engineer (Python, Java) III (Contractor)
Description We are offering a contract employment opportunity for an Automation Engineer (Python, Java) III (Contractor) in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This role requires a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our dynamic team. In this capacity, you will be responsible for the development and execution of formal test plans, ensuring the delivery of top-quality software applications. You will also be involved in the test planning, writing test cases/scripts, test case automation, and test execution. Responsibilities: • Develop and carry out formal test plans to ensure the delivery of quality software applications • Participate in test planning, write test cases/scripts, automate test cases, and execute tests • Define and monitor quality assurance metrics such as defects, defect counts, test results, and test status • Collect and analyze data for software process evaluation and improvements and integrate them into business processes to address business needs • Document all issues and assist in their resolution • Deliver quality process training to technical staff and act as an internal quality consultant to advise or influence business or technical partners • Perform quality audits across various IT functions to ensure quality standards, procedures, and methodologies are being followed • Code, test, and document new or modified Machine Learning systems to create robust and scalable applications for a broad set of clinical use cases • Write clean, well-documented, high-quality code that meets accepted standards, ensures optimal performance, and achieves business requirements • Stay current with complementary programming languages, development methodologies, user interface design techniques, and database tools • Design and build relational databases for data storage or processing • Develop strategies for warehouse implementation, data acquisition, and archive recovery • Clean and maintain the database by removing and deleting old data, and evaluate new data sources for adherence to the organization's quality standards and ease of integration • Work closely with customers, business analysts, and team members to understand business requirements that drive the analysis and design of quality technical solutions • Involved in the full systems life cycle and is responsible for designing, coding, testing, implementing, maintaining and supporting application software that is delivered on time and within budget • Make recommendations towards the development of new code or reuse of existing code. Requirements • Proven experience as an Automation Engineer, preferably with Python and Java. • Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to interact professionally with all levels of management. • Previous experience in training staff and implementing new procedures. • Familiarity with budget processes in a corporate environment. • Strong commitment to quality, with a keen eye for detail. • Proficient in database design and management. • Experience with time management software, such as 'About Time'. • Proven track record in implementing new software and practices. • Ability to generate and interpret metric reporting. • Proficiency in SQL, Python, and R Code. • Experience in clinical trial operations will be a plus. • Ability to work effectively with partners and stakeholders. • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and Java coding. • Quality assurance experience, including defect management. • Understanding of various storage solutions. • Familiarity with different software development methodologies. • Degree in Computer Sciences or a related field is preferred.
