Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced Automation Engineering Manager to lead our automation team to design, develop, and implement automated systems and machinery to streamline processes and improve operational efficiency factory wide. The ideal candidate will be responsible for analyzing existing processes, identifying areas for automation, and designing automated systems to optimize workflows.
You will:
+ Lead and manage the automation engineering team, ensuring the delivery of new process equipment and automation solutions.
+ Develop and implement automation strategies to meet production improvement goals.
+ Design and build complex machines to eliminate/reduce human interaction.
+ Direct and prioritize workload with resources within the department and with other internal and external resources.
+ Develop cost-effective methods for new and existing production processes.
+ Maintain records of projects, purchase orders, and tools.
+ Ensure documentation for Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
+ Manage budget and capital projects for equipment.
+ Provide a clean, comfortable, and safe work environment.
+ Utilize both internal and external resources for the delivery and maintenance of automation systems.
+ Develop and deliver training on new systems and methodologies to all required stakeholders.
You have:
+ Bachelor’s degree in industrial, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering (or relevant field).
+ 10+ years of experience in manufacturing, preferably in precision machining, injection molding, assembly, or optics.
+ Proficiency in machine controls technology, including PLC programming.
+ Knowledge and proficiency in design, build, and debug of complex electrical & mechanical systems.
+ High mechanical aptitude and ability to create and interpret detailed mechanical drawings.
+ Knowledge of relevant computer applications, including SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Project, Excel, etc.
+ Good written and verbal communication skills.
+ Mechanical understanding of stamping presses, feeders, straighteners, tool room, and other support equipment.
+ Knowledge and proficiency with regulation and codes (OSHA, UL, CE, ANSI, etc.).

Work environment & Physical Demands:
+ While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand: use hands to fingers, handle or feel: and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch: and talk and hear.
+ The job may involve prolong periods of sitting/standing.
+ Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus and see colors. May involve prolonged periods of magnified inspection (eye strain)
+ Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp.
+ The employee is frequently required to use the computer.
+ May involve the use of oils and solvents.
+ Subject to some soilage and irritation from cleaning solutions. (Lab Coats provided)
+ Generally, works in a clean environment and works to maintain the environment as such.
+ Safety Glasses are required
+ May require area specific safety training
+ This position works in a manufacturing environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
+ The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne paper particles.
+ May work at different workstations as production needs require, or shifts from one station to another, during the production process.
