ResponsibilitiesEvaluate improvement opportunities and proposed solutions for automation projectsCollaborate with Central Automation team to drive the development of automation strategy, in-line with overall Micron Backend Business objectives.Evaluate improvement ideas based on return on investment, quality and safety/ergonomics improvement.Partner with internal team members and automation vendors to design solutions to meet improvement objectives.Propose improvement ideas to management for approval.Plan overall project within expected scope, budget and timeline.Lead, mentor and develop a team of automation engineersRecruit the best talent to form the ideal team structure.Collaborate with other engineering teams to ensure efficient utilization of technology and team resources.Motivate team to perform to the highest potential.Continuously build up team’s technical competencies through training and industry benchmarking.Setup and lead regular meeting with cross functional team to ensure successful implementation of automation solutions.Effectively manage automation engineering resources to deliver complex multiple projects on time and to budget.Collaborate with counterparts at other sites to ensure consistency of automation projects.Closely work with and monitor supplier’s timeline and resources.Identify and track overall site project breakthroughs, technical challenges, lead-times and risk mitigation plans.Managing site wide program on automationReport to management on labor productivity improvement projects through automation in whole site, ensuring compliance to agreed upon business processes.Support all automation projects in the site to get necessary resources, i.e. funding and resources by collaborating with internal and external partners, notably IE, IT, BEAUTO, KEG and ES.Collaborate with grant team in various government grant execution, communication, audit and administration.Oversee the daily operations of the Assembly/Test automation shift, ensuring all equipment and tools are functioning correctly and efficiently.Manage a team of Automation Engineers, technicians, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high performance and adherence to safety protocols.Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.Coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless integration of automation processes and resolve any issues that may arise.Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the automation shift operations.Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and company policies.RequirementsBachelor’s /Master’s in engineering or Science fieldsAt least 5 years of work experience in physical automation/ data engineering and related engineering fieldProven ability in managing direct reports (leadership role) with experience in building new teams desiredPractical experience working with AMHS (Automated Material Handling Systems), equipment automationPractical knowledge of MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) and Dispatch/Scheduling tool in a high-volume manufacturing environmentContractual and commercial awarenessProven ability in project and/or program managementExcellent analytical, fact-based decision-making skillsExcellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the organizationExcellent teamwork and collaboration with other groups, internally and externallyProven ability to plan and prioritize goals and objectives
