Job Description
Our Project Manager is responsible for planning, budgeting, overseeing, and documenting all aspects of automation and conveyor projects. They act as a bridge between the technical team, business development, and management, ensuring smooth collaboration and clear communication. As the primary contact for clients, they not only ensure project deliverables meet scope and budget requirements but also maintain a strong, supportive relationship with customers, ensuring their needs are understood and addressed. Internally, they work closely with various departments, ensuring resources are available for timely project completion while fostering a cooperative and positive environment.
ResponsibilitiesClearly identify potential project risks and comply with various regulations.Act as the main point of contact for clients, ensuring project deliverables meet scope and budget requirements.Coordinate with team members, senior management, regulatory and funding agencies, consultants, tenants, airlines, the public, and media with clear, empathetic communication.Develop and maintain a communications plan for large projects, ensuring all internal and external entities are well-informed and engaged.Develop and manage complex project budgets, schedules, resources, and reports, ensuring transparency and proactive management.Identify, manage, and communicate variances promptly, taking ownership of any challenges.Minimize and communicate operational impacts, keeping stakeholders informed.Meet reporting obligations and expectations with diligence and care.Essential SkillsProject management experience and PMP certification.Experience in project and construction management for complex capital projects in a 24/7 operational facility, preferably in airport baggage handling systems.Skills in situation analysis, critical thinking, planning, problem-solving, decision making, creativity, and innovation.Knowledge of accounting, budgeting, funding, asset management, resource planning, loading, and balancing.Ability to apply knowledge holistically and consider systemic implications.Capability to work with and mentor less experienced staff.Experience interacting with executive leaders, project stakeholders, and occasionally local, federal, and state officials.Strong communication skills in written and verbal media.Ability to negotiate and resolve conflicts with service providers, funding agencies, stakeholders, and sponsors.Understanding of schedules, estimates, contract documents, and other aspects of engineering design and construction.Ability to balance multiple critical priorities effectively.Problem-solving skills and the ability to anticipate and overcome operational conflicts.Ability to build personal relationships with team members, peers, and stakeholders.Bachelor's degree in Engineering (mechanical, electrical, civil, or structural).8-10 years of project management experience and government contract project management.Proficiency with SharePoint, Enterprise Projects, and Microsoft Office 365.Professional demeanor and appearance.Willingness to travel occasionally as projects demand.Additional Skills & QualificationsKnowledge of large hub airport operations and relevant engineering or architectural fields (mechanical, electrical, security, baggage, etc.).Experience with project control systems for budget, expense, resource planning and management, and tracking project changes and schedules.Work Environment
The work environment involves working in a 24/7 operational facility, which may require occasional travel. Professional demeanor and appearance are expected. The role demands proficiency with technologies such as SharePoint, Enterprise Projects, and Microsoft Office 365. The facility may include a range of technologies and equipment related to airport operations and engineering.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $45.00 - $55.00
