Automation & Robotics Technician

Summary: Responsible for safely and effectively troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining automated and robotic production equipment at a pace that meets production demands. Responsible for adhering to LCI core values, safety guidelines, and lean initiatives. All Maintenance positions support operations and production first, when necessary. Essential Functions Advanced Electrical – Able to safely and proficiently perform advanced troubleshooting and design of electrical circuits and systems; single and three phase, up to 480V AC Intermediate Controls - Responsible for troubleshooting/maintaining/installing circuits and automated machinery and systems containing relay logic, VFDs, PLCs, HMIs, and associated robotics Intermediate Fluid Power – Able to safely and proficiently diagnose and repair faults on pneumatic and hydraulic systems, especially those controlled by automated systems Intermediate Robotics – Able to jog, reset, step, touch up, program and troubleshoot robotic components Intermediate Mechanical – Able to perform mechanical troubleshooting and rebuild tasks safely and proficiently Basic Facilities – Able to respond to and escalate facility maintenance calls - plumbing, gas distribution, compressors, lighting circuits, overhead cranes, etc. Fork/Aerial Lifts – Able to operate fork trucks and aerial lifts safely and proficiently Basic Tools –Able to safely perform maintenance tasks using basic hand tools and basic power tools Competencies Good housekeeping and implementing/sustaining 5s standards Observation and promotion of all safety rules and policies, especially LOTO Highly proficient with a multi meter, and other electrical test equipment Intermediate computer, reading/writing, and communication skills Ability to interpret manuals, technical drawings, electrical schematics, ladder logic, and fluid power schematics Highly motivated, organized, self-starter, able execute work from daily schedule Required to use honesty, integrity, and candor with the entire Maintenance team to create trust, and to support their passion for winning Committed to a maintaining positive attitude and caring about people Must be reliable and prompt Supervisory Responsibility This role does not have any supervisory responsibility upon hiring. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active – while performing this job the team member is regularly standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, balancing, reaching, handling, and climbing all day. The team member may have to lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. In addition, the team member may be exposed to dust, fumes, gases, noise, heat, cold, and wet work while performing job duties. This position requires Personal Protective Equipment. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time hourly position, and hours of work and days are based upon the need to support operations and production. Weekends may be a mandatory part of your shift. Travel Limited travel for training may be required. Required Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent Appropriate Maintenance background and/or education history Must successfully complete LCI new hire safety training and refreshers Must be able to successfully pass the LCI OSHA approved forklift-training course Must successfully complete LCI Lock Out Tag Out Training Must successfully complete LCI Arc Flash/Electrical Hazard Training Must successfully complete LCI Fall Hazard Training, as required Must successfully complete LCI Confined Space Training, as required Must successfully complete all LCI lean training, as required Must successfully complete LCI Tabware Technician Training Preferred Education and Experience Fanuc Robots – Experience with Fanuc robots and controllers Allen Bradley and Siemens – Experience working with both PLC systems Mechanicals – Experience with servicing HVAC equipment, filtration systems, or pneumatic compressors Basic Fabrication – Ability to weld or experience with basic metal fabrication Overhead Doors – Experience diagnosing/resolving issues with overhead doors Rigging – Experience rigging and moving equipment with a boom or crane Conveyors - Experience servicing conveyor systems Coating - Experience servicing coating or blasting systems Work Authorization/Security Clearance Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
