Established company with a large part of the U.S. market share in what they manufacture located  in southwest suburban Atlanta has an opportunity for an Automation / Robotics Technician in a plant environment due to growth with robotic installations for the assembly process.  This day shift opportunity is from a minimum of 8:00am – 4:30pm.  There is the potential of up to 10 hours paid OT in a week which is paid at time and ½.    The benefit package includes an attractive 401K with a 100% match to 5%.  There is a generous bonus potential depending upon performance. Relocation assistance is also available.   The manufacturing environment includes die casting, stamping, and the assembly process.  They utilize Fanuc, ABB, and UR robots.  There are Allen Bradley PLCs present as well.  This is likely a Level III role since wanting at least 5 years of experience.

GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Automation/Robotics Technician will participate in the cell design, end of arm tooling, and fixture design, along with the installation of automated equipment.  The role is a mix of mechanical, electrical, and facilities support.  The technician is responsible for assisting in configuring, testing, operating, maintaining, servicing, and troubleshooting robots, as well as other automated systems used in production. Their primary goal is to increase the efficiency and prolong the life of robotic and other automated equipment by performing the following duties:

Electrical:  Work with circuits from 120 to 480 volts and other electrical related tasks to include AC and DC power and circuit boards. Assist in the construction of robotic equipment, collaborating closely with engineers. Testing robotic systems to ensure they are working properly before use.

Level II (This level includes all Level I responsibilities)

Plumbing related tasks include:  Layout and installation of all types of plumbing systems including sweat, glued, screwed, welded connections; Interpreting isometric drawings. Electrical related tasks include: Use of electrical test equipment to take voltage and current readings and conduct ohm testing. Installing and programming robotic equipment in a manufacturing facility. Troubleshooting issues – both electrical and mechanical – that arise with robotic equipment. Troubleshoot robotic systems, using knowledge of microprocessors, programmable controllers, electronics, circuit analysis, mechanics, sensor or feedback systems, hydraulics, or pneumatics. Make repairs to robots or peripheral equipment, such as replacement of defective circuit boards, sensors, controllers, encoders, or servomotors.
