Automation Specialist (Off-shore Gulf of Mexico)

Primary Responsibilities: Respond and provide automation support during outages. Support the daily operations of the business unit through the installation, programming, start-up and maintenance of automation and process control equipment. Develop control strategies, provide input to P&IDs, control system specifications, termination diagrams, and commissioning plans. Work closely with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, Information Technology Groups. Understand and follow MOC processes to ensure proper PLC Program updates and changes. Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards. Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness. Work in a safe manner at all times and report all health and safety incidents and concerns. Additional duties as required. Required Skills: Execute Allen Bradley PLC based Control System Projects. Perform troubleshooting of Allen Bradley Control Logix PLC's and Wonderware HMI systems. Directly interface with clients and company management to report project status, risks and resolutions. Maintain thoroughness and attention to detail. A significant amount of time will be spent working with complex PLC programs and advanced process control systems. Accustomed with Deepwater Oil & Gas Processing Facilities. Proficiency in instrumentation required. Mastery of Control System Design and Project Execution. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in engineering from school of engineering and technology or technical institute or 5-year relevant work experience. 5+ years of experience with Wonderware and AB ControlLogix PLCs. Must possess strong interpersonal and excellent communication (written and oral) skills. Adept analytical, problem solving, technical, and functional skills with the ability to multi-task and be willing to learn. Must be able to work collaboratively and cooperatively, take direction, work well in a team environment, and interact with all levels of management, engineering, systems, operations and field personnel.
