Your primary focus is the development of a detection system used in mining and construction applications to enhance site safety. You will be expected to collaborate with marketing, component, machine systems, and global software teams to meet customer expectations. We have a fabulous team that does some of the most exciting work at Caterpillar, and we can’t wait for you to join the team!! **What You Will Do:** + Gather and analyze user/client requirements to create design specifications for systems and software development. + Oversee the design implementation of embedded source code in an Agile environment for a machine safety detection system. + Test and debug embedded system software using different tools/methods to optimize quality and system performance. + Collaborate with other team members to ensure production dates are met. **Education requirement:** Requires a degree in an accredited Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Engineering curriculum. **What skills you will have:** **Information Technology Trends:** + Working knowledge of detect sensors such as cameras or radars used in automotive or machine applications. + Ability to develop and maintaining data link and networking protocol libraries, and developing low level network drivers utilizing CAN, CAN FD, J1939 and or Ethernet communication library development. **Software Development Life Cycle:** + Provide thorough technical analysis for practical systems development to meet scheduled stages of development. + Capable of troubleshooting components, C++ software, and systems problems to identify a root cause and propose a solution + Capable of working in an Agile development environment to ensure design quality. **Effective Communications:** + Shares information, knowledge, and experiences openly and proactively to foster a trusting environment. + Proactively leads junior team members with technical mentoring. + Provides technical leadership consult to business decision makers. **Top Candidates will also have:** MS in Electrical, Electronics or Computer Engineering or Computer Science **Additional Information:** The location for this position is Mossville, IL Domestic relocation assistance is NOT available for this position.
