We are seeking a skilled and proactive Automated Warehouse Operator to manage our cutting-edge facility from a centralized control tower. This role involves overseeing a high-speed sorter, outbound order lanes, inbound, goods to person modules and an automated storage and retrieval (AS/RS) pick module. The ideal candidate will excel in real-time monitoring, swift troubleshooting, and maintaining optimal flow and efficiency of our automated systems.
 

Position Detail – Responsibilities

 

Control Tower Operations:
* Monitor and control warehouse operations from a centralized control tower located in front of the automated systems using advanced software tools and dashboards
* Coordinate and oversee multiple automated systems simultaneously, including the high-speed sorter and AS/RS pick module
* Analyze real-time data to make informed decisions and optimize warehouse performance with a key focus on proactive action and maximizing uptime
* Communicate effectively with floor staff, ops leaders, supervisors and other departments to ensure smooth operations

Real-Time Troubleshooting and System Management:
* Monitor, identify and respond to system alerts, malfunctions, or irregularities in real-time
* Perform remote diagnostics and implement immediate solutions to minimize downtime
* Coordinate with on-site technicians and operators for issues requiring physical intervention with a focus on minimizing disruptions to product flow
* Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for common troubleshooting scenarios and alternative modes of operation
* Continuously monitor system performance metrics and proactively address potential issues by pulling data, analyzing trends, and instructing opts team members to recover/investigate abnormal conditions 

Additional Responsibilities:
* Oversee inventory management and order fulfillment processes to and from the automated system components 
* Implement and enforce SEAL safety protocols and procedures
* Train junior staff on control tower operations and troubleshooting techniques
* Collaborate with Engineering, Reliability and Automation (ERA), IT and vendor, customer se and quality teams to implement system upgrades and improvements
* Generate and analyze performance reports to identify areas for optimization

 

Position Detail – Key Qualifications

 

Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, computer science/engineering or related field preferred 3+ years of experience running complex automated warehouse systems, with at least 1 year in a control tower or similar centralized management role Strong proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and automated control systems interface knowledge and function Demonstrated ability in real-time problem-solving and decision-making under pressure Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and metrics Strong technical aptitude and quick learner of new technologies Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies APICS or other relevant supply chain certifications are a plus


Technical Skills:

Proficiency in control tower systems and dashboards Experience with automated sorting systems and AS/RS technologies Familiarity with predictive maintenance software and techniques Knowledge of inventory management and order fulfillment processes Competence in data analysis and reporting tools
