To learn more about Berry, visit berryglobal.com **Responsibilities** Under the supervision of the Production Supervisor or Team Lead, provides support in the automation areas; observes all safety rules and conducts assigned duties in a safe manner. + Follows all Company policies regarding safety, quality and attendance. Performs duties in a safe manner and reports all observed safety hazards to the Production Supervisor or other management personnel. Leads by example and maintains a safe environment for self and co-workers. + Identifies when equipment needs repair, cleaning or adjustment and reports issues to Lead Operator/Team Lead/Production + Maintains packaging levels on all equipment in the automation areas; orders packaging as necessary and returns unused packaging to warehouse following established + Completes all product changes and sets up new products on all automated equipment. Ensures that correct product is running by using online schedule and schedule released by Scheduler. + Logs a variety of production data and inputs into automated tracking system as needed. Prints Traveler reports and provides them to Operators after product changes or after completion of a work order to verify that the product is running and correct packaging supplies are being + Maintains a neat and orderly work area; meets or exceeds plant and department housekeeping standards. To maintain a clean and orderly work place, Automation Technicians may be assigned additional housekeeping responsibilities throughout the plant as + Properly packages finished goods to include correct use of labels, sleeves, twist ties, outers and pallet patterns. Responsible for verifying, executing and proper packaging of all finished goods to achieve the best cosmetic presentation possible, as well as stretch wrapping pallets, printing and applying labels on finished goods as + Resets malfunctioning automated equipment including: conveyors, sleeving units, carton erector, pallet conveyors, robotic arms and all such equipment as may be added/changed in automation areas. Cleans equipment area of missed sleeves, glue on equipment surfaces. Replaces missed rolls and puts through automated process or repacks by hand. + Participates in employee driven teams to address scrap, quality, safety or other production related + May conduct pre-shift meeting and training with employees to provide information on production, quality, safety, policy issues. **Qualifications** To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. **Education:** Knowledge normally acquired through completion of a High school diploma or GED is preferred. **Experience:** In addition to the educational requirements 2-3 years’ experience as a Machine Tender/Packer or equivalent experience is required.
