**Job Title: Automation Technician** **Job Description** We are seeking a skilled Automation Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will perform repairs and preventative maintenance on plant machinery, with a strong focus on programming and instrumentation. This role involves troubleshooting and maintaining PLC/HMI for process equipment, as well as working with production printers, labelers, and date-coding equipment. **Responsibilities** + Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on plant process and materials handling equipment. + Assist maintenance technicians with repairs on production equipment. + Maintain PLC/HMI for process equipment, including program updates, troubleshooting, and repairs. + Troubleshoot and repair production printers, labelers, and date-coding equipment. + Work with equipment vendors to set up and install new or updated coding applications. + Develop and maintain a library of default equipment and motor drive settings. + Maintain PLC components parts inventory using computerized maintenance management software. + Maintain and perform preventative maintenance on robotic palletizers and scanning equipment. + Update obsolete instrumentation with modern replacements. + Repair and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment such as motors, conveyor systems, and production machines. + Replace defective parts using hand tools and power tools. + Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, sketches, and engineering drawings. + Communicate with workers, leaders, and production supervisors to suggest improvements in work methods and procedures. + Initiate purchase orders or work orders for parts, tools, and machines. + Communicate equipment, machinery, ingredient, or product issues to supervisors clearly and immediately. **Essential Skills** + Mechanical skills + Troubleshooting skills + Automation experience + Robotics knowledge + Programming/instrumentation experience + PLC programming + HMI experience + Electrical knowledge + Pneumatics experience + Ability to read schematics diagrams and blueprints + Machining skills **About Aerotek:** We know that finding work is hard, and finding meaningful work is harder.
