Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Automation Technician’s primary responsibility is to ensure automated cells run safely and efficiently. This will require the ability to troubleshoot equipment problems, make robotic and PLC program changes, and repair electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. In this role the Automation Technician will be the on-shift automation expert. They will be required to work independently to identify and resolve problems, while working closely with manufacturing team leads and other technical personnel to keep the automated equipment operating.
The ideal candidate will have the following experience:
Programming and troubleshooting of Fanuc robots Ability to program Allen-Bradley PLC’s Troubleshooting of automated systems including PLC programs, and pneumatic and hydraulic components Training of associates to safely operate equipment 2D/3D CAD skills Experience with injection and blow molding processes
Job Responsibilities:
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical machine issues and make repairs in a safe, efficient, and timely manner. Troubleshoot and repair Fanuc robots Perform and document electrical and electronic equipment preventive maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, installation, retrofitting (updating) and/or removal. Train technical and manufacturing associates on current and new automated equipment Work closely with on-shift team leaders to ensure issues are communicated effectively Provide detailed reports on equipment performance to the Automation Engineering team Share “best practice” methods and ideas Keep accurate records of maintenance and repair activities Perform other duties as required Observe and adhere to all safety rules Ability to work a flexible work schedule when required Must be able to work overtime as needed

Job Qualifications and Requirements:
Demonstrated mechanical capability and a minimum of three-years’ experience in a technical related field required. Technical certificate preferred. High school diploma/GED required. Must possess strong mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and/or electrical knowledge and experience. Must possess basic math skills. Must have working knowledge of hand and small power tools. Must be a good listener and have the ability to receive instructions over two-way radios, and other communication devices. Must possess good communication skills to ensure that clear and concise information is communicated as required. Must be able to read and interpret equipment manuals, document and implement work orders to perform required maintenance and service. Must be a self-starter, self-motivated and able to work independently. Must be able to multi-task. Must be able to become certified on operating a forklift, scissor lift, snorkel lift and overhead crane.
Working Conditions:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to work overtime as well as some irregular hours. This position will work in a reasonably clean production environment. Due to working in a production environment, the exposure to noise is constant. Seasonal weather variations may result in frequent exposure to hot or cold conditions, particularly on the receiving floor and production areas where open doors allow exposure to prevailing weather conditions. Physical exertion such as pushing, pulling, kneeling or heavy lifting up to 50 pounds is frequent.
