**Job Title: Automation Technician**
**Job Description**
We are seeking a dedicated Automation Technician to perform repairs and preventative maintenance on machinery within our plant. The ideal candidate will have a background in programming or instrumentation and will assist maintenance technicians with repairs on production equipment.
**Responsibilities**
+ Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on plant process and materials handling equipment.
+ Maintain PLC/HMI for process equipment, including program updates, troubleshooting, and repairs.
+ Troubleshoot and repair production printers, labelers, and date-coding equipment.
+ Work with equipment vendors to set up and install new or updated coding applications.
+ Develop and maintain a library of default equipment and motor drive settings.
+ Maintain PLC component parts inventory using computerized maintenance management software.
+ Perform maintenance and troubleshooting on robotic palletizers and scanning equipment.
+ Update obsolete instrumentation with modern replacements.
+ Repair or replace defective parts using hand tools and power tools.
+ Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, sketches, and engineering drawings.
+ Communicate with workers, leaders, and production supervisors to suggest improvements in work methods and procedures.
+ Initiate purchase orders or work orders for parts, tools, and machines.
+ Communicate issues with equipment, machinery, ingredients, or products to supervisors clearly and immediately.
+ Maintain an understanding of the flow of work on the production floor.
