Job Description
PLANT DESCRIPTION
Our newly commissioned plant (2022) features side-by-side assembly lines for 2 unique commercial roofing products - TPO and ISO. Both products are manufactured with state-of-the-art equipment in a clean, safe, bright facility.
PLANT LOCATION
IKO Northeast, 160 IKO Way, Hagerstown, Maryland 21740
We are conveniently located at Exit 6 off Route 81 at the Western Maryland Parkway.
Schedule - Must be able to work a rotating shift(days/nights) and including some weekends.
The main purpose for this Automation Technician role is to create, modify and troubleshoot PLC and HMI programs. In addition, this role will handle troubleshooting control systems and, when necessary, help to perform work normally performed by an electrician. This role will also be responsible for making programming backups and executing PMs as needed.

Following all safety regulations and actively participating in plant safety programs.Executing automation projects of various scope through optimization of existing instrumentation and adding additional controls as needed.Identifying parts needed for automation improvement projects and coordinates the procurement through purchasing.Performing tests equipment for safety, performance, and efficiency. Uses electrical hand tools and/or voltage or amperage measuring and recording devices. Selects, installs, configures and calibrates instruments and devices.Performing electrical and controls layouts, updates and creates electrical drawings, prefer use of CAD or other electrical drawing software.Commissioning and tuning basic variable frequency, vector, and servo drives and can integrate drives into the PLC and HMI.Creating, modifying, and troubleshooting PLC and HMI programs.Training maintenance and operations on new systems and updates LOTO and SOP information.Developing standard work plans for proper setup and calibration control devices.Maintaining a clean work area.Working overtime, nights and weekends as required.OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE:
Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school.
Proficient project management skills, basic electrical theory, and troubleshooting techniques.
3 years industrial troubleshooting experience on advanced control systems (drives, PLC, HMI, instrumentation and process.) preferred.
5 years’ experience with PLC, Drive, HMI, and instrumentation background, Siemens preferred.
