Job Title: Automation Technician

Job Description

Program and troubleshoot PLC, HMI, and variable frequency drives to optimize production systems and improve efficiency. Perform electrical troubleshooting and repair to keep operations running at peak performance. Mentor less experienced floor electricians and plan and execute automation projects from start to finish with minimal supervision. Continuously seek production process improvements that minimize downtime and develop and standardize software and hardware architectures for automation projects. Lead the charge in selecting the best technology for automation and present a clear technology roadmap.

ResponsibilitiesProgram and troubleshoot PLC, HMI, and variable frequency drives.Perform electrical troubleshooting and repair.Mentor and guide less experienced electricians.Plan and execute automation projects with minimal supervision.Continuously seek and implement production process improvements.Develop and standardize software and hardware architectures for automation projects.Select and present the best technology for automation.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor's degree OR 2+ years of controls engineering experience1+ year industrial manufacturing experience1+ year troubleshooting and programming Rockwell PLC (RsLogix 500, RsLogix 5000, and Studio 500), HMI (FactoryTalk Studio ME and SE), Powerflex drives, Kinetix Servo drives, DeviceNet, ControlNet, Connected Components Workbench1+ year experience troubleshooting hardwired systems and print reading (US and European style)1+ year experience working with low (24v DC) to high (4160v AC) voltages6+ months food or pharmaceutical experience (preferred)6+ months troubleshooting and programming Siemens PLC (TIA portal), HMI (TIA portal), and Drives (TIA portal) (preferred)Why Work Here?

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
