Job Title: Melt Shop Automation Technician

Job Description

The role of the Melt Shop Automation Technician includes safely installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical and automation equipment in the Melt Shop and associated process lines. This role requires the ability to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime, including call-ins. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within our company; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

ResponsibilitiesSafely install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and automation equipment in the Melt Shop and associated process lines.Work scheduled and unscheduled overtime, including call-ins.Initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.Work as part of a coordinated effort with others to achieve common goals.Communicate effectively, giving full attention to what others are saying and ensuring information is understood.Identify problems and analyze related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.Take initiative in seeking out work that needs to be done and take on responsibilities and challenges.Develop specific goals and plans for prioritizing, organizing, and accomplishing individual and team work.Ensure thorough attention to detail in accomplishing tasks, making sure expectations are met.Essential SkillsKnowledge of computers, electrical/electronic equipment, computer hardware and software, networking, Microsoft Office, and programming.Knowledge of basic electrical theory, including basic troubleshooting, installation, repair, and maintenance of electronic equipment.PLC programming and Siemens - ability to make edits, understand functionality, and troubleshoot.Experience with Siemens S7 controllers/programming packages and network communications.Experience with Wonderware/Aveva software.Additional Skills & QualificationsAdvanced automation development experience.Knowledge of Melt Shop processes.Network troubleshooting, server, and wiring skills.Navy Nuclear experience preferred.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Huger, South Carolina.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $90000.00/yr.
