Automation Test Engineer

Description:
The successful candidate will be part of the Test Automation & Tools Development team involved in the delivery of SW solutions that facilitate automated testing of the latest automotive infotainment and connectivity technologies. You will develop and maintain automated test frameworks, test scripts, and related tools. The role may also include supported automated test runs by maintain build systems, analyzing automated test results, triaging test failures, reporting issues, gathering measurements, and benchmarking critical functionality
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Interface with development and test teams to understand testing requirements, and implement automated tests and related tools
• Develop automated test scripts and tools primarily in Python to verify new feature functionality
• Support existing solutions with bug fixes and updates as needed.
• Administer build systems and facilitate issue resolution as needed.
• Perform automated test execution and results analysis, root cause issues and fix validation.
• Contribute to team deliverable through involvement in agile scrum development sprints.
• Develop and maintain software tools and features to assist in automated testing.
• Develop and maintain test libraries.
• Using tools like Jira, Slash, Pytest, Github, Jenkins
- Using Slash and Pytest for testing environment.
- Using Jira for Defect Tracking system.
- Using Jenkins for automated test in remote equipment.
- Strong use of Github.
Skills & Qualifications:
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• 3+ year experience in Python development including unit testing.
• Experience with automated testing environment and frameworks (ie: Slash)
• Experience with UI level of testing (ie: Squish)
• Experience with continuous integration system (ie: Jenkins)
• Experience with configuration management tools (ie: Chef)
• Experience with REST APIs, and interfacing with Test Case management system (ie: TestRail) and Defect Tracking system (ie: JIRA)
• Detail oriented and adept at detecting and diagnosing software defects
• Analytical with the ability to produce creative and effective software solutions to problems
ADDITIONAL ASSETS
• Experience with C++, Shell scripting, GitHub, Linux development environment
• Experience with unit testing framework (ie: Gtest, CUnit)
• Experience with embedded OS (QNX, Linux)
• Strong aptitude for troubleshooting and problem solving
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work in a multi-site team environment where self-driven and self-motivate capabilities are key qualities
