Automobile Mechanic
**Job Description:** **Key Responsibilities:** 1. **Diagnosis** : Inspect vehicles and use diagnostic equipment to identify issues with engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical systems, and other mechanical parts. 2. **Repairs** : Repair or replace faulty parts, such as engines, transmissions, brake components, belts, hoses, and electrical systems. 3. **Routine Maintenance** : Perform regular maintenance tasks like oil changes, tire rotations, fluid checks, brake inspections, and replacing air filters. 4. **Parts Replacement** : Install new parts and components, such as batteries, spark plugs, alternators, and tires, ensuring the vehicle meets the manufacturer's specifications. 5. **Testing** : Test drive vehicles to assess their performance after repairs or maintenance work, ensuring everything is functioning correctly. 6. **Record Keeping** : Maintain detailed records of the services performed, parts used, and repairs made, and provide customers with detailed invoices. 7. **Customer Communication** : Communicate with customers to explain vehicle issues, recommended repairs, and maintenance schedules. 8. **Safety** : Follow safety guidelines when working with mechanical tools and handling hazardous materials, such as engine fluids, oils, and solvents. **Required Skills and Qualifications:** + High school diploma or equivalent; automotive training or certification (e.g., ASE – Automotive Service Excellence) is highly preferred. + Strong knowledge of vehicle systems (engine, electrical, brake, transmission, etc.). + Experience using diagnostic tools and equipment. + Problem-solving skills for identifying mechanical or electrical issues. + Ability to work with both hand tools and power tools. + Good communication skills to explain vehicle issues to customers. + Physical strength and stamina to handle heavy parts and work under vehicles. **Pay Details:** $25.00 to $45.00 per hour Benefit offerings available for our associates include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits and a 401K plan.
