Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Automotive Forensic Technician to join our team in Greenwood Village, CO. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting thorough investigations of passenger vehicle accidents, commercial vehicle accidents, failures, and fires to determine their causes and contribute to legal proceedings and insurance claims.

Examine vehicles involved in accidents, fires, or mechanical failures to collect and analyze evidenceUtilize advanced forensic tools and techniques to reconstruct accident scenarios and determine causationEmploy automotive and diesel truck manufacturer diagnostic software to query various vehicle modules for relevant event related dataConduct detailed inspections of automotive systems and components to identify defects or malfunctionsConduct detailed inspections of collision scenes to document collision evidence and roadway featuresAnalyze data from vehicle event data recorders (EDRs) and other onboard systemsPrepare comprehensive reports detailing findings, methodologies, and conclusionsCollaborate with legal teams, insurance adjusters, and other stakeholders to support expert testimonyStay current with advancements in automotive technology and forensic investigation techniquesMaintain chain of custody for all evidence collected during investigationsAssist in the development and implementation of new forensic procedures and protocols

QualificationsAssociate's degree in Automotive Engineering, Forensic Science, or a related fieldMinimum of 3-5 years of experience in automotive forensics or a related fieldProficiency in automotive systems and components, including mechanical, electrical, and electronic systemsProficiency in mathematics, physics, and scientific principlesStrong knowledge of forensic investigation techniques and accident reconstruction methodsExpertise in data analysis and interpretation, particularly related to vehicle dataProficiency in forensic tools and software used in automotive investigationsExcellent report writing skills with attention to detail and accuracyStrong problem-solving abilities and analytical thinkingRelevant certifications such as FAA Part 107 Familiarity with legal and regulatory requirements related to automotive forensicsExcellent communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiencesWillingness to travel to investigation sites as neededValid driver's license and clean driving record

A reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role is $65,000 - $85,000. Any offered salary range is based on a wide array of factors including but not limited to skillset, experience, training, location, scope of role, management responsibility, etc.
