The Automotive Mechanic I will modify cars and trucks in a prototype environment, performing a wide
range of diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance. The Automotive Mechanic I will be mentored and
supported by team members on project work and customer interactions.
As an Automotive Mechanic I, you will be responsible for:
Maintain vehicle functional condition by working off repair orders or leader instructions andconducting inspectionsRepair mechanical and electrical system malfunctions and replace parts and componentsRead, interpret, and follow service proceduresMaintain vehicle records by entering notes, service, and repair ordersKeep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting
breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance, calling for repairsParticipate in daily shop organization and clean-up
To be considered as an Automotive Mechanic I, you will need:
High school diploma or equivalentNo previous experience requiredMechanical ability and ability to operate shop equipmentGood attention to detail and organizational skillsAble to work independently and as part of a teamHas own tools with rolling toolboxAbility to read, comprehend and execute written proceduresA successful candidate may also have:
Certificate in Automotive Technology or relatedNational Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification(s)State Mechanic Certification(s)Valid driver’s licenseKnowledge of vehicle alignments, air conditioning (A/C) system repairs, tire machines andbalancersAbility to work overtime as needed including weekends
