As an Automotive Mechanic Senior, you will modify cars and trucks in a prototype environment, performing a wide range of diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance. The Automotive Mechanic Senior mentors and oversees team member’s technical deliverables to ensure Roush and customer standards are met. This position is located in Livonia, MI.

As an Automotive Mechanic Senior, you will:

Maintain vehicle functional condition by working off repair orders or leader instructions and conducting inspectionsRepair mechanical and electrical system malfunctions and replace parts and componentsRead, interpret, and follow service proceduresTrain, coach, and mentor team members related to their job responsibilities and is available as a subject matter expert to assist the team and customerMaintain vehicle records by entering notes, service, and repair ordersKeep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance, calling for repairsLead daily shop organization and clean-upTo be considered as an Automotive Mechanic Senior, you will need:High school diploma or equivalentMinimum of 8 years of work experience as a mechanicExcellent knowledge of mechanical assembly and ability to operate shop equipmentGood attention to detail and organizational skillsAble to work independently and as part of a team and able to mentor and train othersHas own tools with rolling toolbox and able to work overtime and weekendsAbility to read, comprehend and execute written proceduresA successful candidate may also have:Certificate in Automotive Technology or relatedState Mechanic Certification(s)Valid driver’s licenseKnowledge of vehicle alignments, air conditioning (A/C) system repairs, tire machines and balancers
