What is the role we are searching for?

Automotive Parts Manager-Cranberry Township, PA:

In this position you will have overall responsibility for the Parts Department including inventory control, pricing, training and managing the parts staff in order to meet and strive to exceed company targets.

The ideal candidate will proactively manage and increase the efficiencies of the Parts Department in support of the service technicians and reconditioning technicians through training, mentoring and oversight of scheduling his/her team. Monitor Parts Department performance to goals and drive performance to objectives with integrity in accordance with the current business plans.

What will you do?

· Maintain profitability of the Parts Department through managing the inventory at optimal levels in a clean and orderly environment; ensuring inventory availability for "fast moving" items and low quantities for slow moving items.

· Maintain good relationships with all parts vendors to obtain the best service and price while pursuing new vendors to improve service and profitability.

· Order and track special ordered parts and parts installation information so that timely completion of vehicles takes place for both reconditioning and retail service.

· Train/mentor a parts manager successor; perform performance reviews of all subordinates; be a team builder.

· Perform a quarterly in-house and an annual external year-end inventory.

What skills do you need?

· Knowledge of Parts Department operations and ability to perform the work and train others in these functions. Previous experience in managing a parts department.

· Demonstrates consistent application of creativity, logic, practicality and objectivity in decision-making and problem solving with balance between quick decisiveness and thorough analysis. Understands the "Big Picture and is action oriented action oriented and puts solutions into practice achieving results in spite of a lack of resources.

· Exemplifies integrity. Does not cut corners. Remains consistent in terms of what one says and does in terms of behavior towards others. Maintains confidences.

· Previous experience in planning, organizing, and scheduling, while focusing on key priorities -- getting ordered parts to the right department as soon as possible to ensure customer satisfaction.

· Maintains stable performance and poise in heavy pressure situations. Manages team to excellence with positive reinforcement and the appropriate level of correction.

· Communicates effectively one to one. Is empathetic, patient and an "active" listener. Effectively works through conflict. Keeps people informed. Writing is clear and precise.

· Actively and successfully trains, coaches and develops people for current assignments and promotional positions. A people builder who cares for his/her team and inspires by his/her example.
