**Job Title: Prep Technician** **Job Description** As a Prep Technician, you will be responsible for physically taking cars apart using basic tools to prepare them for the technicians. The prep department is the first stop a vehicle makes when getting up-fitted. Your responsibilities include preparing sub-assemblies and vehicles by disassembly according to the Vehicle Build Sheet and instructions from the Lead Prep Tech. This includes tasks such as installing window bars, TLO boxes, push-bumpers, prisoner door panels, and assembling various products. **Responsibilities** + Disassemble vehicles using basic tools to prepare them for up-fitting + Prepare sub-assemblies as per the Vehicle Build Sheet + Install components such as window bars, TLO boxes, push-bumpers, and prisoner door panels + Assemble various products as instructed by the Lead Prep Tech + Maintain a high level of attention to detail + Interface with clients, mostly police officers, and maintain a highly presentable appearance **Essential Skills** + 1 year of mechanical automobile experience or a certificate of completion from an automotive or related technical school + 1+ year of assembly experience + Experience tearing down and/or rebuilding equipment, machinery, or large parts + Ability to use power tools and hand tools + Ability to read and follow build prints and work instructions + Valid driver’s license and ability to clear a DMV check + Ability to work independently and within a team + Natural curiosity and a desire to absorb and process knowledge + Ability to discern when to consult a team lead with questions or concerns **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience with tape measures, stereo install, radio install, mechanical assembly, and electrical assembly + Highly detailed-oriented + Ability to operate tools such as power tools, hand tools, and mechanical assembly equipment **Why Work Here?** This role offers lots of opportunities for growth, with three additional levels to advance through, and the potential to learn electronics and diagnostics of cars. The company specializes in the custom outfitting of patrol, undercover, battalion command, fire, utility, and construction vehicles.
