Automotive Technician

As a Technician you will be responsible for providing quality service by performing a variety of automotive services. These services will include:

General repair and replacement services to include: brake pads and shoes, tires, wheel alignment, steering and suspension components, wheel bearings, exhaust systems, heating and cooling systems, air conditioning, drive train, and accessory installations. Maintenance services to include: oil changes, fluid exchanges, filter replacement, fuel system services, preventative maintenance, belt and hose replacement. Basic evaluation services to include: charging system analysis, brake inspections, fluid leak evaluations, tire pressure and tread depth reading. Visual safety and courtesy inspections. And based on skill level may also include: Diagnostic services to include: emissions control systems, drivability concerns, overheating, ABS and SRS systems, electrical and air conditioning systems. Advanced repair and replacement services to include: timing belts, intake manifold gaskets, head gaskets, brake hydraulics, rear main seal, clutch, axle bearings, steering gear, sensors, switches and modules.

Requirements:

As a Technician, you must have strong time management skills along with the ability to work in a team environment and strong attention to detail. Some more specific requirements are as follows:

Master Technician: Minimum of one-year experience as a Master Technician. Pep Boys will also require that within two certification test cycles, Master Technicians will pass ASE certifications A1 through A8. Engine Performance (EP) Technician: Minimum of one-year experience as an EP Technician. Pep Boys will also require that within two certification test cycles, EP Technicians will pass ASE certifications A1, A4 through A8, and L1. Technician A or B: Minimum of one-year experience as a Technician. Pep Boys will also require that within two certification test cycles, Technicians will pass their respective ASE certifications (Technician A: ASE 4 & 5 plus any other two A-series certifications; Technician B: ASE G1, A4 & A5).

A valid driver's license is required as well as successfully completing a drug screen and background check.
