Automotive Test Lead
**Job Description** Automotive Test lead **-** BAE Systems Readiness Support & Services Amphibious programs is seeking Amphibious Combat Vehicle TestLead at Aberdeen Test Center for test operations of the Amphibious Combat Vehicle. The Automotive Test Lead is responsible for the test site as it relates to managing the facility, personnel, safety, training, vehicle readiness and support as well as End User training. The lead attends and participates in the Government meetings providing technical and test data analysis of the Amphibious Combat Vehicle Family of Vehicles. The Automotive Test Lead acts as the liaison between the Government and the Contractor technical personnel, providing technical information to the Government related to Automotive testing and providing technical assistance to Government Automotive representatives to address Integrated Project Team issues. The Automotive Test Lead briefs the Government Customer on any Contractor related testing. Automotive Lead attends and participates in all Government Customer test events and planned pre/post event meetings. Automotive Test Lead acts as the point of contact during test events, working with personnel to prepare vehicles per test plan for various test events, and assess vehicle repairs while evaluating and recommending arrangements for subsequent testing. The Automotive Test Lead works closely with the Field Service Manager to witness/evaluate and report. + Reports to Amphibious Field Service Manager + Responsible for task assignments of Field Service Engineers as required by test schedule and requirements. + Manages local test operations within scope and budget. + Manages test hub locations and satellite sites. + Collects test site data for vehicles testing within his sector of operations. Compiles weekly report of test activities required by Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL). + Provides time sensitive information to the failure review board as required for Test Incident Reports. + Immediately reports all Safety incidents/violations, enforces all safety requirements on site or assigned work area. + Responsible for scheduling personnel support for test and evaluation activities as well as mentorship and development of personnel. + Responsible for all operations of all test site and field service assets. + Responsible for collection of test site data being compiled for weekly report as required by CDRL. + Manages Field Service operations to insure work is within scope and budget. + Applies basic knowledge of the design of organization's products and technology to solve moderately complex and clearly defined engineering problems. Selects the best method or process from among several existing alternatives. + Develops and writes technical documentation, makes revisions to existing documentation, and provides input to technical papers or presentations. May deliver technical presentations. + Performs technical analysis, testing, calculations, and evaluation of results to solve moderately complex engineering problems using specialized equipment and/or by computer programs. + Analyzes and interprets design specifications, drawings, documentation, models, and/or test results to ensure technical designs comply with applicable engineering standards, military specifications, and product requirements. + Provides input to project leaders for the development of project plans, schedules, and budgets. + Applies basic lean/six sigma principals to drive improvements to production processes. + Interacts with employees located at multiple facilities across the country. + 90% of travel associated with the position. Responsible for accountability of all BAE systems and USG property assigned to respective site to include reporting any movement and submitting damage or loss reports for site assigned property **Required Education, Experience, & Skills** + Typically a High School Diploma and 4 years work experience or equivalent experience + United States Marine Corps Intermediate Maintenance Course + Proficient with Microsoft office. Must use Microsoft Office for reporting, development of presentations and communications with product engineering and program management. + Knowledge of military maintenance systems (all levels of repair) to include testing/troubleshooting, particularly with diesel engines + Experience with vehicle diagnostic CAN-BUS protocols i.e. J1939 and troubleshooting methodologies. Able to instruct personnel on proper repair procedures and quality control requirements. + Knowledge of 4000 series Allison Transmission and maintenance operations + Hydraulic propulsion systems and controls + Experience with root cause/corrective action-preventative action. + Knowledge of appropriate technical manuals and engineering data. + Must be able to interpret and use all types of engineering drawings and schematics. + Detail understanding of system troubleshooting techniques. + Proficiently use all types of hand tools, shop tools, including micrometers, depth gages and finish gages. + Use all types of power tools, lifting devices, carrying or support equipment in a safe/sure manner. + Effective interpersonal and communication skills. + Amphibious Combat Vehicle experience. **Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills** + Light Armored Vehicle experience. + Experience with Military Vehicles + Welding experience + Experience working in a collaborative, team based environment. + Integration and test experience + Marine Corps MOS 2141 Assault Amphibious Vehicle Repairer or 2147 Light Armored Vehicle Repairer with 10 years experience. Marine Corps 1341 Engineer Equipment Mechanic. Marine Corps 1342 Small Craft, Boat Mechanic. **Pay Information** Full-Time Salary Range: $72380 - $115830 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
