The Autonomous Vehicle Service Technician will assist engineers with designing, developing, testing, and repairing autonomous vehicles, or other equipment. The role will provide mentorship and technical support to other employees and work to keep operational activities on schedule and functioning smoothly. The Autonomous Vehicle Service Technician role supports project growth and development.
As an Autonomous Vehicle Service Technician, you will be responsible for:
Assembling, disassembling, diagnosing, and repairing complex electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, and high and high voltage electric vehicle systems using power supplies, function generators, multimeters, oscilloscopes, and OBD (On Board Diagnostics) diagnostic interface toolsValidating products through activities such as setting up vehicles, components, or equipment for the testing of electrical, electronic, mechanical, instrumentation or integrated systems or equipmentTraining, coaching, mentoring, and providing technical support to other team members regarding mechanical and electrical design, fabrication and testing responsibilities and is available as a subject matter expertPerforming complete functional inspection and prove-out of instrumentation, electrical, and mechanical systemsCollaborating with customers, engineers and internal services to identify equipment and sensors to support testing requirementsScheduling product testing and activities with internal and external teamsTo be considered as an Autonomous Vehicle Service Technician, you will need:
High school diploma or equivalentMinimum of 8 years of automotive, prototype or testing experienceAbility to travel 10% Valid driver's license Experience performing electrical splicing, crimping, soldering and mechanical layout and packaging of components and systemsAbility to lead and work with different cross functional teams and have excellent organizational skillsIntermediate MS Office skills specifically with Excel, Word, PowerPointAbility to collect data from testing results and software and manage multiple projects.Knowledge of vehicle and component instrumentation for testingGood mechanical skillsA successful candidate may also have:
