About the Role

We’re hiring a Localization and Mapping engineer in our autonomy software team. In this role, you’ll work with multiple stakeholders including Product, Engineering (hardware and software), and Operations to develop our localization and mapping system. You’ll be researching, designing and implementing enhancements as a core member of the team. 

You’re excited about this opportunity because you will… Play an integral role on a small and focused team Research, develop and implement algorithms for highly accurate localization for an autonomous vehicle Design solutions for creating large-scale, accurate 3D maps to improve our robot’s capabilities and behavior. Contribute to the architecture of a safe and redundant system We’re excited about you because… Experience in at least one of the following: optimization, robotics, computational geometry Experience in at least one of the following: computer vision, lidar data processing, IMU data processing In-depth knowledge of data structures and advanced algorithms. Strong C++ experience Industry experience designing, implementing and extending algorithms MS/PhD degree in Computer Science, Robotics, or related technical field Nice to have experience includes: Experience with 3D registration techniques, SLAM, odometry, etc. Prior experience in the self-driving vehicle space Compensation

The successful candidate's starting pay will fall within the pay range listed below and is determined based on job-related factors including, but not limited to, skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions.  Base salary is localized according to an employee’s work location. Ranges are market-dependent and may be modified in the future.

In addition to base salary, the compensation for this role includes opportunities for equity grants. Talk to your recruiter for more information.

The base pay for this position ranges from our lowest geographical market up to our highest geographical market within California, Colorado, District of Columbia, Hawaii, Maryland, New Jersey, New York and Washington.
