ARS is seeking a passionate and innovative Autonomy Researcher to join our dynamic team focused on advancing autonomous systems. The successful candidate will contribute to cutting-edge research in areas such as autonomous vehicles, machine learning, and artificial intelligence (AI). This role requires expertise in autonomy algorithms, real-time systems, and modeling techniques. You will work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to design, test, and implement novel autonomy solutions.

Responsibilities include:
+ **Autonomy Algorithm Development:**
+ Design and develop algorithms for autonomous systems, focusing on safety, efficiency, and reliability.
+ Implement machine learning, reinforcement learning, and optimization techniques to improve decision-making processes of autonomous systems.
+ Contribute to advancements in perception, localization, path planning, and control for autonomous systems.
+ **Research and Innovation:**
+ Conduct original research to explore new autonomy technologies and methodologies.
+ Stay updated on the latest trends, papers, and breakthroughs in autonomy and AI-related fields.
+ Work on novel problem-solving approaches to real-world autonomy challenges, including environmental factors and human interactions.
+ **Testing and Validation:**
+ Develop and execute experimental plans to validate the performance and reliability of autonomy algorithms.
+ Simulate and evaluate autonomous systems in controlled environments and in real-world scenarios.
+ Analyze experimental data, providing insights and recommendations to refine algorithms.
+ **Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing:**
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams including software engineers, hardware engineers, and product managers to integrate autonomous solutions.
+ Communicate complex research findings clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
+ Present research outcomes at conferences, workshops, and internal meetings.
+ **Mentorship and Leadership:**
+ Participate in and/or lead small teams of researchers in specific projects or sub-domains of autonomy.
+ Foster a collaborative and open-minded research environment.
Qualifications/ Technical Experience Requirements:
+ A Mater’s or PhD degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
+ Must have an active SECRET security clearance, TS/SCI preferred.
+ Focus or specialization in autonomy, machine learning, or control systems.
+ Proven experience in autonomy-related research, including algorithm development, system modeling, and real-time performance evaluation.
+ Work/professional demonstrated experience working with machine learning and AI frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar platforms.
+ Work/professional experience with programming languages such as Python, C++, or MATLAB.
+ Strong understanding of autonomy technologies, control theory, perception, planning, and optimization methods.
+ Experience with sensor fusion, computer vision, or SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) is a plus.
+ Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation, statistical methods, and experimental design.
+ Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
+ Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
+ A strong track record of published research in top-tier journals or conferences.
+ Ability to work in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary team environment.
+ Creativity and a passion for pushing the boundaries of autonomous systems technology.
+ Interest in working on real-world applications of autonomy in industries such as automotive, aerospace, robotics, or healthcare.
