Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Autopsy Attendant responsible for the care of deceased persons from transportation attime of death, to the preparation and burial, or cremation of the deceased,depending on state laws.
Essential Duties andResponsibilities:
+ Caresfor deceased persons
+ Storesand retrieves bodies from storage
+ Properlyadmits the body to the hospital
+ Picksup bodies of deceased persons from hospital wards, medical facilities, privatehomes, etc.
+ Drivesmortuary vehicle to pick up deceased persons
+ Identifiesdeceased persons with correct identification
+ Preparesinventories of personal effects accompanying bodies of deceased
+ Preparesand maintains mortuary records
+ Makesbody of deceased presentable for viewing by relatives and friends
+ Releasesremains to mortuaries and to Chief Medical Examiner Coroner’s Department
+ Releasesbody for autopsies and embalming, organ or tissue donation,
+ Sanitizesand cleans mortuary vehicle and equipment
+ Assistsin enforcing rulers pertaining to privacy, decorum, and cleanliness in themortuary
+ Performs other duties asassigned/necessary
Minimum Requirements:
+ Highschool diploma or GED preferred
+ Validdriver’s license in the state of assignment
+ Knowledgeof procedure for properly admitting the body to the hospital
+ Priorexperience working in a morgue or coroner's office preferred
+ Ability to effectivelyelicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, butnot limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communicationskills; proficiency in the English language may be required
