AV Engineer
Description We are seeking an AV Engineer to join our team in Newport Beach, California. The successful candidate will play an integral role in our IT department, focusing on the operation, setup, and maintenance of our AV equipment. This role is crucial in supporting both on and off-campus events that require presentation and performance technology, with a particular focus on activities in the Black Box Theater. Responsibilities • Set up and operate AV equipment for various events, ensuring optimal performance and functionality. • Perform regular maintenance checks on all AV equipment, identifying and resolving any issues promptly. • Provide training and support to student crews and community members who have been granted use of presentation spaces. • Coordinate closely with the IT and Arts departments to manage a high volume of projects and performances effectively. • Operate and have a good understanding of technologies such as Q-lab, Yamaha and Allen and Health audio consoles, Dante PA system, Shure microphones, and control systems like Crestron, QSC (Q-SYS) and Extron. • Develop an understanding of advanced systems such as Meyer Sound Constellation Systems, lighting equipment and systems, and streaming equipment. • Manage the use of audio video technologies and audio visual systems in line with the needs of the role. • Operate sound board and lighting systems for theatrical productions. • Utilize live streaming and video streaming technologies for off-campus events. • Maintain a flexible schedule to accommodate events that may take place during evenings and weekends. Requirements • Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience as an AV Engineer or in a related role • Proficiency in handling and operating Sound Board • Experience with Crestron and Extron systems • Solid understanding of Lighting and Lighting systems, including Stage Lighting • Experience with Live Streaming, Streaming Media, and Streaming Technologies • Familiarity with Video Streaming Technologies • Ability to operate Allen-Bradley equipment • Experience with Audio Amplifiers, Audio Equipment, and Audio System • Proficiency in using Microphone in a Theatre setting • Knowledge of Audio Video and Audio Visual systems • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills • Ability to work in a team and independently when required • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills • Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment • Degree in a relevant field is desirable but not mandatory.
