AV Engineer

The Audio-Visual Engineer will be responsible for the seamless design, delivery, support and evolution of Audio Visual and Facilities software platforms throughout the ACS providing planning, set up, support, troubleshooting, and evolution for AV throughout the organization as needed, whether remote or on site. In addition, the Audio-Visual Engineer is required to deliver top notch customer service, interfacing within Facilities and other business units throughout the organization. As a vital member of our team, the Audio-Visual Engineer role is integral to ensuring that all conferencing events and Facility software systems, run seamlessly. This role is a perfect blend of technical prowess and creative problem-solving, demanding a keen eye for detail and a passion for cutting-edge audio and visual technologies. Whether setting up equipment for corporate meetings, orchestrating dynamic presentations, or troubleshooting live events, the Audio-Visual Engineer works behind the scenes to elevate the audience's experience. The engineer will also be responsible for working with vendors and resources in the maintenance and troubleshooting of conferencing Audio Visual, Facilities technology, and digital signage.

 

Identifies, analyzes, and resolves system problems for conferencing Audio Visual equipment Provides system/equipment/specialized training and technical guidance. Determines system specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility. Performs advanced functions to maintain full operational status of collaboration technology. This includes evaluation of issues escalated from front-line and intermediate support personnel, conducting signal flow analysis, testing cables, testing audiovisual systems, documenting system changes. Provide technical support and conduct routine maintenance on conference room equipment (projectors, video walls, computers, speakers, mics, and VTC equipment). Participate in conferencing pre-planning logistics meetings, support technical dry runs, set up Audio Visual equipment assist presenters with loading and running presentations. Manage the audiovisual setup for meetings and presentations, adapting the equipment to the needs of event managers. Review meeting/event expectations and evaluate system capabilities to ensure all meeting expectations are met. Aiding end users experiencing issues using meeting space technology including, helping users connect to meetings using MS Teams, Webex, Google or Zoom in various scenarios and triaging any technology issues escalating to the firms break/fix support team Manage, host, and provide uninterrupted technical assistance during meetings (Zoom & MS Teams) as requested. Assist in the development and maintenance of standards, processes, and training for Facility Software programs. Engage in best practice and current technology support to multiple event formats, including in-person, virtual and hybrid events as requested. Taking initiative to independently identify and troubleshoot issues related to implementation of office technology solutions (specifically around Audio Visual solutions or Facilities software needs) including, network issues and other meeting space technology issues. Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with vendors, clients, and co-workers. Collaborate with IT and other departments to ensure seamless integration of Facilities Audio-Visual systems Design, manage and implement new AV technology or software for renovations, including coordination with the general contractor and trades with leadership review.

 

This role is based in our Washington, D.C. office. A reasonable rate of compensation for this position is between $82,000 – $105,000 per year.
