THE ROLE: AV Field Engineer
Job Summary:
As an AV Field Engineer, your primary responsibilities will include overseeing the commissioning, staging, and troubleshooting of audiovisual systems. You will be integral to the successful integration of complex AV solutions, ensuring they meet both technical specifications and client expectations
Travel Requirements:
This is a hybrid role mixed with both remote, in office and onsite duties. In this role you may be expected to travel to client locations frequently to carry out specific job functions, such as consultations, project implementation, troubleshooting and other job specific tasks.
Job Responsibilities:
The AV Field Engineer is charged with the responsibility of providing complete, full functional integrated audio-visual systems. The Field Engineer position has two main focal points: Staging and Commissioning systems in the field to the point that these systems are ready for client sign off. Interfaces with Project Manager, Solutions Architect, and client contacts. Responsible for reviewing CAD documentation for staging and final mark up for record drawings. Responsible for IP configuration of all AV devices residing on a network Responsible for filling out IP tables and storing these on the project server Responsible for communicating status updates to Manager Advanced capabilities for audio system setup and gain structure Advanced capabilities for video system setup Advanced capabilities for troubleshooting Responsible for managing versions and storing final commissioning documentation Works with the programmer to load, test, and troubleshoot code Assists installation technicians with field questions and clarifications Responsible for completing commissioning checklist and final documentation Responsible for rack testing and escalating and resolving issues with equipment Responsible for field testing and escalating and resolving issues with equipment and programs Maintain knowledge of vendor partner support systems for technical support Provide assistance to service technicians Responsible for continuous improvement on delivery and commissioning process and documentation Provide training on AV systems to clients Must be able to work well in a team environment Commercial worksites and office environment Travel to client project sites as required up to 50%Required Skills:
A thorough, demonstrable understanding of AV systems integration techniques Skilled in the programming of audio DSP units from multiple vendors Skilled in the loading of control system code and user interfaces Experience working with AV programmers to load code and commission systems Understands basic IP networking Experience with a variety of Audio Video products is required. Typical manufacturers include but not limited to: Crestron, Cisco, Biamp, Extron, QSC, Shure, Poly/HP, Barco, MTR solutions, Samsung, LG, Planar, Vaddio, Sennheiser Experience with Collaboration platforms Required and can include: MS Teams, Cisco WebEx, Zoom, Google Meet Experience with the deployment of digital signage solutionsEducation and Experience:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and/or military experience 5+ years of experience in AV Solution Implementation / Integration Avixa CTS-I Certification is preferred or ability to obtain within one-year*****
