Job Title: AV Production Manager
Overview: The AV Production Manager is responsible for coordinating and managing all technical aspects of audio-visual productions, including live events, broadcasts, recordings, and presentations. They ensure that the technical elements, such as sound, lighting, and video, meet the highest standards of quality and are executed according to the client's specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Coordination:Collaborate with clients, producers, directors, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements.Develop detailed plans and timelines for audio-visual productions, considering technical needs, equipment requirements, and logistical constraints.Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and equipment suppliers to secure necessary resources.Technical Setup and Operation:Oversee the setup, configuration, and operation of audio, video, lighting, and other technical equipment.Conduct technical rehearsals to ensure proper functioning of all equipment and smooth execution of the production.Troubleshoot technical issues as they arise during rehearsals and live events, implementing quick and effective solutions to minimize disruptions.Team Management:Recruit, train, and supervise a team of technicians, including audio engineers, lighting technicians, camera operators, and stagehands.Assign roles and responsibilities to team members, ensuring that everyone understands their tasks and executes them proficiently.Provide guidance, support, and feedback to team members to foster a collaborative and high-performing work environment.Budgeting and Resource Management:Develop and manage budgets for audio-visual productions, including equipment rental, labor costs, and other expenses.Optimize resource allocation to maximize efficiency and minimize waste, while ensuring that quality standards are maintained.Source cost-effective solutions and negotiate favorable terms with vendors and suppliers to control expenses.Quality Control and Compliance:Implement quality control measures to ensure that audio-visual productions meet the highest standards of technical excellence and client satisfaction.Stay abreast of industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in AV production to continuously improve processes and outcomes.Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety regulations, as well as copyright and licensing requirements.Documentation and Reporting:Maintain comprehensive documentation of equipment inventory, technical specifications, production schedules, and other relevant information.Generate reports on project progress, budgetary status, technical issues, and other key metrics for internal review and client communication.Evaluate the success of audio-visual productions based on predefined criteria and feedback from stakeholders, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed.
