AV Programmer (DC/Baltimore)
Description: We are currently seeking an Audio-Visual Programmer that will be a critical member of a U.S.-based global systems integrator providing technology solutions and services for commercial and government clients. This position is responsible for creating a consistent and reliable control program based on design documents generated by the engineering team. This individual will also create the graphical user interface (GUI), tying in client specific branding to create a pleasing custom aesthetic that is both functional and intuitive. Additional programming tasks include design coordination, scope review meetings, project kickoff meetings, GUI submittals, system code and user manuals. Responsibilities + Principal responsibilities and duties, but not all-inclusive, include the following. Individuals may perform other duties as assigned, including working in other functional areas to cover absences or relief to balance workloads. + Create functional control systems that meets the intended design specifications + Create user friendly graphical interfaces that are functional and aesthetically pleasing + Coordinate with project managers and the design team to ensure system operation and intent + Meet key deadlines set by the project schedule to ensure timely completion + Create a project-specific touch panel GUI submittal for client approval + Maintain and update source code for assigned projects + Troubleshoot AV system issues and control system debugging + Generate a system user guide document upon substantial completion of the project + Attend project specific meetings to coordinate deliverables and integration + Collaborate with the programming team to develop new processes, code improvements, and GUI elements + Provide the Pre-Sales team feedback on level of effort for estimation and quoting Skills: InfoComm, Crestron, AMX, Audiovisual, Technical support, programming, commissioning Qualifications + Proficiency with Crestron SIMPL#, SIMPL# Pro + Experience in C#, C++, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, Python (preferred) + Broad knowledge of AV control system standards and best practices + Proficiency with Crestron SIMPL + Proficiency with Extron Global Configurator Pro + VTPro-E is a must + Experience in AMX Programming is preferred + On-site troubleshooting experience + Knowledge of AV-over-IP technology and networking fundamentals + Advanced computer skills as required for configuration and troubleshooting of equipment + Ability to work and think independently and ensuring to meet deadlines + Communication, collaboration, and positive mindset in a team-based environment Education: + HS Diploma, community college or technical school graduate (or work experience equivalent) + Associate or bachelor’s degree in computer programming or similar (preferred) + Years of experience: 5+ years of AV control system programming in a similar role. + Security clearance: US Citizenship. Ability to obtain a Public Trust or DOD clearance is a plus, but not required. Certifications: + Certified AMX Programmer + Certified Crestron Programmer (highly preferred) + Certified Extron Programmer (preferred) + AVIXA CTS/CTS-I/CTS-D (preferred) + Cisco CCNA or equivalent certification (preferred) Skills: + Highly organized, and efficient with personal time management + Excellent intrapersonal skills for client communication and management + Proactive and results-oriented + Excellent communication skills (written & oral). + Dependable and on time + Customer service focus + Desire for continuously improvement at a personal level. + Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills + Fast pace, dynamic environment, flexibility for change + Comfortable with Biamp and QSC DSP configurations + Knowledge of C#/HTML5 (Angular, React and Vue frameworks)/Lua scripting + Knowledge of setting up Linux servers (Crestron VC4 ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ We reserve the right to pay above or below the posted wage based on factors unrelated to sex, race, or any other protected classification.
