AV Support Technician - Executive Meetings & Events

Geico is seeking a highly skilled and professional AV Support Technician to provide technical support for executive-level meetings and high-profile events. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the seamless operation of audio-visual equipment, managing event setups, and providing on-site troubleshooting during live events. The ideal candidate should have exceptional technical expertise, a strong understanding of AV systems, and the ability to manage high-stakes, executive-level functions with efficiency and professionalism.

**On-Site 5 days a week in Chevy Chase, MD

Key Responsibilities:

• AV Equipment Setup & Management:

• Set up, operate, and troubleshoot audio, video, and lighting equipment for executive meetings, conferences, and high-profile in-person and virtual corporate events.

• Ensure all AV systems (including microphones, projectors, video conferencing, and teleprompters) are functioning at optimal levels before and during events.

• Event Support:

• Provide on-site technical support during live meetings, presentations, and events, ensuring smooth transitions between speakers and seamless multimedia experiences.

• Manage video conferencing solutions (Zoom, Webex, etc.) for virtual and hybrid meetings, ensuring clear audio and video quality for remote participants.

• Coordinate with event organizers and executive assistants to understand specific AV requirements for each event.

• Troubleshooting:

• Rapidly diagnose and resolve technical issues that arise during meetings or events, minimizing disruptions.

• Troubleshoot and resolve problems with audio, video, and conferencing systems in real-time.

• System Maintenance & Inventory Management:

• Perform routine checks and maintenance on AV equipment to ensure readiness for meetings and events.

• Maintain inventory of AV equipment, including ordering replacements or upgrades as needed.

• Collaboration & Communication:

• Work closely with event planners, executive assistants, and IT teams to understand specific technical needs and ensure all requirements are met.

• Provide technical advice to executives and their teams to ensure the most effective use of AV technology during meetings and events.

• Documentation & Reporting:

• Maintain detailed records of equipment setup, troubleshooting steps, and event summaries.

• Report on the condition of AV equipment and recommend improvements or upgrades to support future events.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in AV support, ideally in a corporate or executive-level environment.

• Proven experience with audio-visual systems, video conferencing platforms (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, WebEx), and event technologies.

• Technical Skills:

• Strong understanding of AV equipment, including sound systems, microphones, projectors, video cameras, and display technologies.

• Experience with event lighting, camera setups, and video streaming platforms.

• Proficiency with troubleshooting and problem-solving AV and IT-related issues under pressure.

Personal Skills:

• Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with high-level executives and external partners.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Professional demeanor, with a strong sense of discretion when working with confidential or sensitive information.

• Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends, depending on event schedules.

• Available to travel to support enterprise events.

Annual Salary

$100,450.00 - $157,850.00

The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
