Location Description A Riverside Conference Experience off the banks of the Hudson River nestled within the Croton Bay area boasting proximity to New York City and surrounding metro areas. A soulful place that celebrates the natural Hudson Valley beauty where guests gather on milestones of education, training and professional achievement for a toast while engaging in the wellness of the pristine outdoors. • 248 well appointed guestrooms • Over 70K square feet of state of the art meeting & event space • Three food & beverage outlets • 62+ acres of trails, expansive fitness center, basketball, team-building, volleyball and your imagination Overview The successful candidate will be responsible for the set-up, operation and maintenance of all audio/visual equipment including sound systems, video production, speaker support, lighting and computers. Also work directly with clients to understand their audio visual needs and facilities in the production of their function. This is a part time position, less than 30 hours a week. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Collaborating with planners and or clients to determine AV needs before an event. Set-up audio/visual equipment in meeting rooms according to client’s needs. This requires lifting an average of 20-30 lbs. to a height of 36-50 inches with occasional lifting of up to 75 lbs. to a height of 6 feet. Testing the equipment to ensure everything is connected correctly and the signal is strong. Build scaffolding for projectors, set up large projection screens and pipe and drape. Taping cords to floor and along walls. Climbing ladders to a height of 16 feet to hang banners and adjust lighting. Carrying equipment up to 75 lbs. to and from meeting rooms. Operation of all audio/visual equipment. Requiring working knowledge of video and audio equipment, computers, projectors, cameras, telephones to include hook-up and troubleshooting. Operation of equipment may require long periods of standing or kneeling in one place (operating cameras or spotlights). Climbing scaffold and ladders and ability to maintain balance while performing audio/visual duties. Maintaining equipment and inventory. Ability to read and count. Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs. Good manual dexterity needed for repair and cleaning of equipment (use of hand tools, soldering iron, etc.). Administrative duties include: Good telephone skills, ability to work directly with clients. Ability to read several weeks’ worth of contracts, tracking the use of equipment, analyzing the best use of equipment and ensuring an adequate inventory of needed equipment. Basic office skills. Build and maintain a good relationship with clients. Work as a team with all other departments. Other duties as assigned by management. Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum high school graduate or equivalent. Two years’ experience or education in Electronic Media. Knowledge of various types of AV equipment. Technical and troublshooting skills. Ability to communicate effectively with meeting planners, trainers and corporate executives. Experience with Delphi Property Management System preferred not required. Basic computer skills including knowledge of WordPerfect, Microsoft Word and Excel. Excellent interpersonal skills. Previous guest services experience. Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays. Compensation Range The compensation for this position is $24.00/Hr. - $24.00/Hr. based on qualifications and experience.
