Aviation Programs Engineer/Manager 2
Overview We are seeking a full-time Aviation Programs Engineer/Manager 2 in our Olathe, KS location. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting successful conception, development, and/or application of sophisticated avionics systems by leading creation of technical product proposals and product definition for integrated flight deck programs and/or retrofit products. Essential Functions Acts as primary program support for OEM customer inquiries and ensures effective communication with customers and internal stakeholders Leads product definition and creation of technical product proposals and related documentation in response to customer requests Negotiates aircraft-specific requirements with customer and documents and disseminates to internal stakeholders Generates bench test plans/procedures for select interfaces or functionality and executes these procedures Performs technical market research and coordinates technical roadmaps in support of product definition and/or business development initiatives Creates and communicates status updates regarding relevant program progress and issues for internal stakeholders Analyzes program requirements and works with internal stakeholders to establish effort estimates Provides technical content for system design/description documentation Assists in preparation and transmittal of technical documentation required to support aircraft certification Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Math, Physics or related field AND a minimum of 1 year relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule) Demonstrated knowledge in one or more of the following technical areas: Systems Integration, System Safety, System Requirements Demonstrated advanced troubleshooting skills and provides assistance with troubleshooting equipment in the field Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills Driven problem solver with proven success in solving difficult problems Desired Qualifications Outstanding academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.5) Pilot’s License Garmin Integrated Flight Deck experience Garmin International is an equal opportunity employer.
