**EchoStar** has an exciting opportunity for an **Aviation Project Engineer** in our Hughes Network Systems division. Hughes is a leading provider of satellite products and services that recently announced disruptive in-flight entertainment and connectivity solutions for airlines. The Project Engineer will play a crucial role in the planning, developing and executing projects that drive our solutions forward. This position will can be located in either our **Germantown, MD** or **Lisle, IL** office.
Responsibilities:
+ **Project Management:**
+ Plan, initiate, and manage STC Projects from conception to completion
+ Coordinating and managing engineering projects to ensure the successful development, certification, and deployment of in-flight connectivity systems
+ Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables and ensure they are achieved on time and within budget.
+ Monitor project progress, resolve issues, and implement changes as necessary.
+ Maintain strong relationships with partners to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
+ Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, status reports, and technical documentation.
+ **Technical Management:**
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop technical requirements and specifications for in-flight connectivity systems.
+ Oversee the design, implementation, and certification of new hardware and software components.
+ Work with software, hardware, and network engineering to ensure that the implementation of the technical solution complies with system requirements.
+ Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
+ **Risk Assessment and Mitigation:**
+ Develop risk mitigation plans and drive risks to closure.
+ Proactively address technical issues and obstacles that may arise during project development.
+ **Documentation:**
+ Prepare and deliver progress reports to senior management and stakeholders.
+ Author interface control documents, system descriptions, whitepapers, and other key technical documents for internal and external stakeholders
**Basic Requirements:**
+ Bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering, electrical engineering or related field with an aviation background.
+ 5+ years of relevant experience.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Familiarity with aviation regulations and standards, such as RTCA DO-160, DO-178, and DO-254.
+ Strong technical background in avionics, telecommunications, or related disciplines.
+ Experience designing or modifying aircraft hardware, aircraft structures and avionics.
+ Ability to influence a variety of stakeholders to establish technical concurrence.
+ Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
+ Familiarity with aviation regulations and standards, such as RTCA DO-160, DO-178, and DO-254.
+ Proven experience in project management within the aviation or in-flight connectivity industry.
+ Experience executing retrofit and line fit projects in the aviation industry
Will be eligible for discretionary bonus, with funding based on company performance.

Compensation Range
Annual Salary: $84,000.00 - $112,000.00
