Within the Defense Sector, the Airborne Systems Business Area at Leidos currently has an opening for a talented Aviation Software Test Engineer to work in our Huntsville office. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience to help test and develop software for tactical strike, sensors, CUAS, and UAS solutions.
This position focuses on automated testing, development of robust, innovative software test infrastructures and frameworks, integration testing, informal manual testing, formal software qualification testing, fielding and support, and maintenance of software products. Software products range from analysis tools/simulations, mission planning software, and components of mission-critical systems.
Primary Responsibilities.
This test position involves direct participation as an integral team member who performs key roles with respect to test planning, test strategy and design, test execution, software engineering processes, and recommendations on product quality.This position also involves reviewing, editing, and generating various documents used for engineering and testing purposes per industry standards.Basic Qualifications.
Candidate must possess at least a bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent technical degree with an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher.Candidate should have 2-8 years of relevant technical experience. Have a proven track record of implementing automated software testing principles. Candidate must demonstrate basic competency in software development in either C#/.NET, C++, Java, Python, or Ruby programming languages. Have experience writing unit and integration tests with unit test frameworks. Possess an aptitude for the technical skills required for software test, configuration management, and software quality engineering concepts. Have experience developing test methods and procedures for software products using scripting and/or compiled languages. Have strong analytical and process improvement skills along with a personal drive for details and quality workmanship. Possess an aptitude for the technical skills required for software test and software quality engineering concepts. Demonstrate familiarity with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Have good communication skills.Preferred Qualifications.
Experience writing user interface (UI) tests with automated UI testing technologies. Experience with applicable industry standards (IEEE 12207, CMMI, DO-178C and/or DO-278, RMF). Candidate is expected to accept constructive feedback from more senior software team members.
