Avionics Aircraft Mechanic 1
The **Avionics/Electronics Aircraft Mechanic I** is responsible for: + Performing maintenance checks on aircraft flight controls, stabilization systems, avionics and controlled cryptographic equipment. + Maintaining common/special tools and equipment. + Troubleshooting equipment and diagnose repairs. + Maintaining and testing of avionics and electrical systems with integration of complex software and hardware, including electrical power generation and distribution systems, integrated avionics systems and displaces, communication and navigation systems, mission equipment integration, sensors, and vehicle health monitoring systems. **Minimum Qualifications:** + Valid up-to-date **A&P license.** + If no A&P license, shall have Three (3) years aviation maintenance experience, Two (2) years rotary wing aircraft experience, and Two (2) years on the assigned MDS. + All experience must be within the Six (6) most recent years. + The applicant being trained to Military Occupational Specialty or Original Equipment Manufacturer Maintenance course standards for the type airframe on which they will perform maintenance, repairs and services. By way of explanation, being a graduate of a DoD or OHS Armed Services MDS producing school for the desired aircraft type of successful completion and certification by OEM approved course of instruction for the airframe type would make someone MDS qualified. + Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. Note: **US Citizenship** is required for a facility credentials/authorization at the work location. + **Tools are Required** ; must provide own shadowed/etched Tools and Tool box. **KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS** + Possess good communication skills; be adaptable, diversified and capable of troubleshooting entire aircraft system. + Working knowledge of electrical, electronic, mechanical and associated systems principles to complete properly all probable work tasks. + Knowledge of Quality Control, Production and Supply procedures required to perform job assignment. + Able to properly use a variety of common hand tools and measuring devices such as gauges, torque wrenches and scales and test, measurement and diagnostic equipment related to specific aircraft models. + Able to determine when faulty systems or assemblies can be corrected through repair of replacement of new parts and the nature and extent of repair required. + Must have skill in reading, applying and interpreting technical data. **PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT** + Must be able to climb, stand, stoop, bend, stretch, crouch and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. + Frequently lift parts and equipment up to 20 pounds. + Occasionally lift objects up to 50 pounds. + Most heavy lifting is accomplished through the use of mechanical devices. + May work in Aircraft maintenance hangar or outside. + May be required to respond to a wide variety of operational circumstances, including extreme weather conditions and rudimentary infrastructure. + May be exposed to extreme noise from turbine and jet engine aircraft. May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles; may be exposed to electrical shock hazards or work near moving mechanical parts. **COMPENSATION & BENEFITS** + Hiring Hourly Rate: $33.66. + This position includes a competitive benefits package.
