Avionics Engineering Lead for Gateway IMS (BT-24195)

The Avionics Engineering Lead for Gateway IMS will support the JETS II contract in Houston, Texas. \n
\n

RESPONSIBILITIES:\n\nThe Avionics Engineer Lead will be supporting the Gateway Avionic Sub-System, a critical sub-system of the Gateway Program which will return to the Moon.\nWork with subject matter experts to identify inconsistencies in the Gateway IMS architecture as it applies to avionic requirements.\nSupport engineering flight project schedule, procurement documentation, budget and system requirements documents.\nDevelop and support sub-project requirement and verification data packages to support architecture requirements, design, verification\/validation, operations, and sustaining engineering.\nCoordinate and orchestrate product life cycle reviews, coordinate integration, verification and validation activities.\nWork with requirements to align with hardware specifications while understanding the verifications including integrated analyses and decomposition.\nParticipate and contribute to system requirements reviews, preliminary design reviews and critical design reviews.\nWork with team members and leads to identify risks, develop risk statements, and plan risk responses with mitigation strategies.\nSupport engineering flight project schedule, procurement documentation, budget and system requirements documents.\nWork and present schedule and progress to customers and boards\/panels.\nOther duties as assigned. \n\n

REQUIRED:\n

\n\nThis position requires US Citizenship or Permanent Resident status due to the sensitivity of customer related information. \nRequires a bachelor's degree in engineering.\nMust have 2+ years of recent and related experience in the field or in a related area. \nKnowledge and understanding of SE&I processes, methodologies, tools and technologies.\nKnowledge of test principles, tools, and processes needed to develop test requirements.\nKnowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the space hardware field, such as mechanical and electrical system design, engineering drawings and sketches, and material selection.\n\n
\n

DESIRED:\n\nBS degree in Electrical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited engineering school.\nKnowledge of Flight Hardware and\/or Flight Processes\/Paperwork.\nExperience with NASA processes.\n\n
\n

WORK LOCATION: \n\nThis position is located onsite. \nThis position offers a 9\/80 schedule, every other Friday off.\nThis position may require some travel.\n\n
\n

BACKGROUND INVESTIGATIONS REQUIRED:\n

DRUG AND ALCOHOL SCREENING REQUIRED:\n

All Bastion employees must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen; some contracts require participation in periodic random drug and alcohol screening programs.\n

STANDARD BASTION REQUIREMENTS:\n\nMust have experience with Microsoft Office Suite.\nAll of Bastion's employees must be team players. \nAble to communicate effectively, verbally and in written form, with internal and external customers.\nAble to follow company programs, processes, procedures, practices, requirements, goals, and objectives.\nMust have a strong work ethic and must be safety culture oriented.\nMust be organized with good time management skills.\nGenerally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.\nWork may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time). \nMay require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time).\nRegular attendance in accordance with an established work schedule is critical.\nAbility to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.\n\n
