**Description**
Applied Research Solutions is looking for an Avionics Software Engineer to support the Training PEO Support Directorate at WPAFB, AFB in the T-7 Advanced Pilot Training program. The Avionics Software Engineer will be expected to apply knowledge of DoD, AF, and engineering/scientific principles to enhance the performance and sustainability of current and future AF and joint service weapon systems.

**Responsibilities include:**
+ Demonstrate expertise in software engineering to support the design, development, testing, evaluation, implementation, maintenance, and administration of new and existing software systems.
+ Apply knowledge of systems acquisition and systems/subsystems-level hardware and software integration to ensure effective software engineering solutions.
+ Perform systems requirements analysis and allocation and evaluate computer systems architecture for seamless software and hardware integration.
+ Conduct systems and subsystems testing and evaluation, ensuring software systems meet performance and quality standards.
+ Utilize software assurance practices and tools, including architecture and design analysis tools, origin analyzers, source code weakness analyzers, and binary analyzers, to ensure software integrity and security.
+ Assist in reviewing, developing, and updating program documentation relevant to software engineering requirements, ensuring compliance with applicable standards.
+ Support the development and maintenance of the Software Development Plan (SDP), contributing to the overall software development strategy.
+ Apply understanding of aeronautical vehicle systems, airborne systems, and related ground systems avionics operational flight program capabilities to support core engineering tasks related to software engineering.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure software engineering solutions align with program requirements and objectives.
+ Provide technical expertise and guidance in the continuous improvement of software development processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance system performance and reliability.
+ Other duties as assigned
**Qualifications/ Technical Experience Requirements:**
+ Must have an active Secret Clearance
+ Must be US Citizen
+ Master’s or Doctorate Degree in a related field and ten years of experience in the respective technical / professional discipline being performed, five years of which must be in the DoD
+ OR, Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and 12 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, five of which must be in the DoD
+ OR, 15 years of directly related experience with proper certifications as described in the PWS labor category performance requirements, eight of which must be in the DoD.
+ Demonstrated experience with systems acquisition processes and hardware/software integration at the systems and subsystems level.
+ Experience in supporting the development and execution of software development strategies and contributing to Software Development Plans (SDP).
