Our Technical Operations team is full of aircraft maintenance technicians, engineers, planners, ground equipment and facilities professionals, and supply chain teams that help make sure they’re well taken care of and ready to get our customers to their desired destinations. The Avionics Technician is responsible for providing quality service to internal customers in Technical Operations. This includes performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs of aircraft radio, electrical and avionics systems.

Key Responsibilities:Perform aircraft maintenance work in accordance with FAA and Company regulationAdjust, repair, or replace defective components based on analysis of test results following blueprints, schematics, wiring handbooks, and also other technical documentsPerform such typical maintenance functions as cabling, component removal/installation, wire harness removal/installation, fabrication/repair of wire assemblies, and continuity checksFabricate and install all wiring assemblies, static lines, and associated mechanical equipmentPhysical Abilities

This position requires you to perform a variety of physical activities such as:

Accessing elevated areas of aircraft for maintenance and servicing which may require ladders, jet stairways, high lift trucks, boom lifts and other lifting devicesClimbing, standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, sitting, working overhead, extensive walking, working in tight/confined spaces and lifting up to 50 poundsHandling hazardous material in performance of assigned dutiesBe able to use Personal Protective Equipment (e.g., respirators, safety glasses, safety shoes, etc.)

What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):High school diploma/GED or education equivalentFAA AP License requiredTwelve (12) months experience required in radio and electrical/avionics trouble shooting and repair including IFE (In-Flight Entertainment) preferredAt least 18 years of ageValid US drivers license (revoked, suspended or expired are not considered valid)Passing of a 10-year background checkPassing of pre-placement hearing and vision tests, and drug screenPosition-specific clearances required include but are not limited to FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal ServicePassing and maintaining recurring pulmonary function check for the use of a respirator with no medical restrictions or limitationsPossess own tools and purchase additional tools if requiredFlexible to work any shift in a 24/7 operation, including nights, weekends and holidays requiredLegally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorshipSuccessful completion of pre-employment skills tests and interviewReliable, punctual attendance is an important function of the positionKnowledge and ability to use power toolsThe ability to become skilled on various test and ground equipmentBasic computer knowledgeAbility to read, write and speak English fluently
