Avionics Technician III 

Location - California, MD 


Requirements:

Performs aircraft maintenance to include inspection, operational test, repair, and modification of aircraft electrical/avionics systems.Applies advanced technical knowledge to solve complex problems and to provide technical assistance, guidance and instruction to other employees as needed.Possess a high degree of expertise of aircraft electrical/avionics systems including communications security (COMSEC)Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of applicable maintenance/technical manuals and publications, and special tools and test equipmentMust be familiar with operational capabilities and limitations of electrical/avionics systemsPossess a thorough working knowledge of the detection, prevention and treatment of corrosionPerforms the troubleshooting and rewiring of complex avionics/electrical systems and subsystems discrepancies and modificationsProvides technical assistance, guidance and instruction as requiredEstimates and accesses damage of avionics/electrical components/systems as related to crash and mishap damaged aircraft to include repair and/or replacement, man-hours, parts, components, and materialsWhen assigned to the flight line, provide customer support during launch and recovery and aircraft security as required.Completes maintenance documentation accurately using OOMA, and required forms, as required by job assignment.

 

Qualifications:

Must have four (6) years' experience in a primary MOS from any of the following OccFlds: 6323 Aircraft Maintenance, equivalent skill designation from other services or possess valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant CertificationMust show proficiency in the use of OOMA within 90 days after assignmentHigh school diploma or equivalent Must have held a Collateral Duty inspector (CDI) designation on Military Aircraft or 4 years FAA Inspection Authorization (IA) experienceMust be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.Must have and maintain a Secret clearance.Prior CDQAR PreferredUSN/USMC experience preferred
