Responsibilities

As the Assistant Vice President of Information Technology, you will be responsible for driving excellence in IT software product delivery and ensuring client satisfaction. This hands-on leadership position requires a strategic thinker with a comprehensive understanding of IT management and a strong focus on client relationships. The successful candidate will lead a dynamic team of business analysts and developers, aligning IT services with business goals, and elevating the overall customer experience through effective technology solutions. This role is responsible for managing the software development life cycle on the IT Team’s stand-alone efforts as well as in partnership with Berkley Technology Services and other Berkley entities. 

 

Leadership & Strategy:

Participate in strategic leadership of IT functions, aligning IT services with business goals and objectivesDevelop and communicate a plan for software delivery, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and customer service excellenceCollaborate with senior leadership, integrating the IT Team with business strategies to ensure that IT continues to meet organizational needs

Process Optimization:

Oversee design, implementation, and optimization of IT processes, including Data Governance, IT Compliance and software development life cycle processesContinuously evaluate and improve IT processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve the overall quality of IT servicesImplement best practices and industry standards to ensure a consistent and effective approach to IT deliverables

Team Management:

Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing IT team, fostering a collaborative and results-driven cultureProvide coaching and development opportunities to team members, encouraging continuous skill enhancement and career growthEstablish succession plans and talent development strategies to ensure a strong and capable IT team

Stakeholder Management:

Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and expectations, ensuring IT contributes to overall organizational successCommunicate effectively with all levels of the organization to gather feedback and make data-driven improvements to technology deliverables

Product Management:

Continue to evolve and optimize in-house software development, including but not limited to:Data WarehousingWeb ApplicationsXML File TransfersETL Data ProcessesSharePoint SitesManagement Reporting Qualifications 10+ years of progressive experience in IT Management, with 3-5 years in a leadership role, managing team size of 15 or moreProven experience in designing, implementing, and optimizing IT processesStrong understanding of ITIL/ITSM framework and other relevant industry standardsExcellent leadership and people management skills, with a track record of building and leading high-performing teamsStrategic thinker with the ability to align IT services with business objectivesStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsDemonstrated experience in vendor management and contract negotiationKnowledge of emerging technologies Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field Additional Company Details The Company is an equal employment opportunity employer.
