AVP, IT Operations - Administration - Full Time
Summary: The Assistant Vice President (AVP), IT Operations is a leadership position responsible for supporting and executing the strategic vision of the CDIO. The role ensures that the healthcare organization’s technology infrastructure, information systems, and digital strategies align with operational and clinical goals. The AVP, IT Operations will oversee IT operations, lead project delivery, and drive innovation in patient care and business processes through technology, ensuring the highest level of service and security. Experience: • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Healthcare Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred. • Minimum of 10 years of IT leadership experience, with at least 5 years in healthcare. • Proven experience in managing large-scale IT operations and digital transformation in a healthcare setting. • Strong knowledge of healthcare information systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner), cybersecurity, and clinical operations. • Expertise in digital health solutions, including telehealth, AI, patient engagement, and cloud technologies. • Exceptional leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to manage diverse teams, build cross-functional relationships, and drive change. • Experience in budget management, vendor negotiations, and contract management. • Knowledge of healthcare regulatory requirements and experience in ensuring compliance. Essential Functions • IT Strategy and Leadership: • Assist the CDIO and CISO in developing and implementing the organization's IT strategy, ensuring alignment with clinical, operational, and financial goals. • Lead technology initiatives aimed at enhancing patient care, operational efficiency, and cybersecurity readiness. • Act as a key advisor to senior leadership on all matters related to technology and digital transformation in healthcare. • IT Operations Management: • Develop and execute a strategic plan for IT operations with a focus on infrastructure availability, scalability and cybersecurity. • Ensure IT operations are aligned to cybersecurity operations meeting the organization’s business objectives, IT control and regulatory requirements. • Ensure uptime and reliability of critical IT infrastructure supporting clinical and business systems, including EHR (Epic), patient portals, telehealth platforms, and enterprise applications. • Manage IT disaster recovery planning and testing to meet sr. management determined critical IT system recovery time and point objectives to protect patient care and organizational data. • Produce operational metrics for service lines to measure and communicate outcomes • Digital Innovation and Transformation: • Champion digital health solutions, including telemedicine, AI-driven initiatives, smart hospital programs, and patient engagement tools. • Collaborate with clinical and operational leaders to identify and implement technology solutions that improve care delivery and patient outcomes. • Team Leadership and Development: • Manage, mentor, and develop IT leaders and high performer individual contributors across infrastructure, network, desktop, and , and the project management teams. • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the IT department. • Ensure alignment of IT resources with strategic initiatives, providing leadership and direction on key IT projects. • Budget and Vendor Management: • Assist in the preparation and management of the IT budget, ensuring resources are effectively allocated to support organizational priorities. • Oversee vendor relationships contract negotiations, and IT vendor performance management ensuring effective and secure delivery of third-party services and technology solutions. • Compliance and Regulatory Management: • Maintain IT Operations policies, standards and procedures • Ensure IT systems comply with Guthrie policy and healthcare regulations, including HIPAA, HITRUST CSF controls, and other relevant local, state, and federal requirements. • Lead efforts to maintain the security and confidentiality of patient information and respond proactively to IT assessment and audit findings for service lines.
