Position Summary
We are seeking a strategic and detail-oriented AVP Procurement, Contracts Management of the supplier contracts function to oversee and optimize our organization’s supplier contracting processes. Reporting to the VP, Supplier Performance Leader, this key leadership role will focus on ensuring effective contract lifecycle management, risk mitigation, compliance, and fostering strong supplier relationships. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in supplier negotiations, contract law, and operational efficiency, along with strong leadership and collaboration skills.
Expected Contributions
Strategic Leadership
Develop and execute a comprehensive supplier contracts strategy aligned with organizational goals.
Build and lead a high-performing team of contract managers and contract lifecycle management tool specialists.
Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency, cost savings, and risk management.
Contract Management
Oversee the full contract lifecycle, including drafting, negotiation, review, execution, and renewal processes.
Ensure all contracts meet legal, regulatory, and corporate compliance standards.
Partner with procurement and legal teams to maintain consistent contract templates and frameworks.
Risk and Compliance Management
Identify and mitigate risks associated with supplier agreements, including financial, operational, and reputational risks.
Monitor compliance with contractual obligations and resolve any disputes efficiently.
Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
Supplier Collaboration and Negotiation
Develop strong relationships with key suppliers to foster collaboration and mutual success.
Lead complex negotiations to achieve favorable terms while maintaining positive supplier partnerships.
Act as the primary point of escalation for contractual issues with suppliers.
Data and Reporting
Implement and manage contract management systems to ensure data accuracy and accessibility.
Provide regular reporting and insights to leadership on contract performance, savings, and risk exposure.
Leverage data to inform decision-making and strategy development.
Candidate Profile
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; MBA or JD preferred.
8+ years of experience in supplier contract management, procurement, or a related field, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
Expertise in contract law, negotiation strategies, and supplier relationship management.
Experience using contract lifecycle management platforms, with a strong preference for familiarity with Ironclad
Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Proven ability to handle complex negotiations and resolve disputes effectively.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Skills and Knowledge
Strong understanding of contract law principles, procurement processes, and regulatory requirements impacting technology and related services procurement (e.g., data privacy laws, cybersecurity frameworks).
Proven experience working with cross-functional teams, including legal, finance, tax, and IT stakeholders in a large corporate environment; experience with international procurement and related tax considerations a plus.
Exceptional negotiation, drafting, and communication skills.
Proficiency in contract management software and other productivity tools (e.g., Microsoft Office, SharePoint).
Ability to lead a team, evaluate competing objectives, and prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
