You’ll also cultivate, develop, and maintain strategic partnerships with executive leadership of large national agencies and brokers. You will maximize national agent, broker, and affinity relationships across all product lines to achieve profitable growth.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Builds and maximizes relationships with CEO, COO, and EVP level leadership of the top insurance brokerage firms. Increases Nationwide’s relevance with large national firms by providing a roadmap to build meaningful results and relationships with executives of the largest, most influential P&C firms.
Develops and leads a diversified team of business development professionals capable of collaboratively driving execution with Nationwide business unit executives and their leadership teams, to achieve growth and profit targets. Supports and develops talent for Nationwide to remains a viable, thriving organization. Promote diversity to maximize the future forward skills and talents of our associates.
Creates strategic and tactical plans to grow revenue and profit across the Nationwide enterprise. Provides consultation and direction in connecting the appropriate decision makers to maximize growth and profit opportunities based on knowledge of Nationwide business unit capabilities and brokerage firm opportunities.
Leads the delivery of Nationwide capabilities and solutions to be utilized by focus firms. Provides subject matter expertise on the dynamics impacting national firms and how to best collaborate with Nationwide. Participates on multiple projects and initiatives throughout the company to provide insight and perspective.
Consults, recommends, and drives the distribution model by sharing knowledge from national firms. Shares observations and ideas in response to changing market conditions including new products, service expectations and heightened competition. Steward of cultural change.
May perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Reporting Relationships: Reports to (Vice President National Partners). Direct reports (Director, Business Development (individual contributors)). Indirect reports ().
Typical Skills and Experiences:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Marketing or other business related degrees.
License/Certification/Designation: Relevant professional designation such as CPCU is desirable.
Experience: Ten or more years’ insurance sales, financial services, management experience and in-depth knowledge and understanding of agent and broker operations.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in written form, with all levels of management. High levels of credibility and professionalism in dealings with both internal and external senior executives and the Board of Directors.
Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.
Staffing exceptions to the above must be approved by the hiring manager’s leader and HR Business Partner.

Working Conditions: Normal office environment. Frequent travel required within assigned region. Most leaders work from a remote location, such as an office out of their home. A valid driver’s license and safe driving record may be required.
