Job Purpose & Scope
Develops, implements, and monitors SOX controls related to data solutions, including ELT processes, databases, and Python data pipelines. This role will blend technical oversight with regulatory compliance to suppurate accurate and auditable data.
Essential Job Functions
+ Coordinates across Control Owners to scope, design, and implement an effective control framework that supports SOX compliance.
+ Develops and implements SOX controls for data solutions, including ELT, databases, and Python data pipelines
+ Ensures that data processes, infrastructure, and workflows comply with SOX regulations, particularly around financial reporting, data integrity, and access controls.
+ Creates and maintains governance documentation to ensure compliance with SOX requirements.
+ Monitors the effectiveness of SOX controls within the data architecture and engineering practices and identifies areas for improvement.
+ Supports internal and external SOX audits by providing necessary technical and procedural documentation and explanations.
+ Reports on the status of SOX controls and audit findings to executive management.
+ Collaborates with IT and business teams to ensure SOX controls are integrated into data engineering architecture and product development processes.
+ Serves as a data steward for the data engineering team, ensuring data integrity, quality, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
+ Defines remediation processes and analyzes the extent of any control deficiencies and mitigation procedures from the management perspective.
+ Develops and maintains Data Risk reporting to meet the needs of oversight committees and promote program goals.
+ Maintains up-to-date knowledge of present and evolving technologies, threats, and regulations enforced by FFIEC, FDIC, and other relevant federal/state supervisory agencies.
+ Proactively maintains knowledge on industry best practices and regulatory changes related to SOX compliance.
+ Regularly exercises discretion and judgment in the performance of essential job functions.
+ Maintains good punctuality and attendance to work

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
+ Advanced knowledge of IT general controls and best practices, particularly for data environments.
+ Comprehensive knowledge of data infrastructure, data security, access management, and data classification standards.
+ Knowledge of SOX General IT Controls.
+ Experience working with SQL, cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure), and data warehouse systems.
+ Ability to create and maintain governance documentation, support SOX audits, and report findings to executive management.
+ Knowledge of internal controls related to data risk management.
+ Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
+ Ability to work effectively with all levels of management and with internal and external stakeholders of varying levels.
+ Ability to work effectively and efficiently both as part of a team and independently, while demonstrating effective interpersonal skills.
+ Ability to demonstrate organizational awareness skills.
+ Ability to demonstrate effective strategic, critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
+ Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously, working with both exacting deadlines and shifting demands, unforeseen events, and changing priorities.
+ Ability to demonstrate initiative and be proactive in accomplishing work tasks and objectives.
+ Proficient skill in using data governance tools, control management systems, and relevant software.
+ Skill in using computer, including Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel).
Basic Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field, or commensurate work experience, required.
+ 4+ years of work experience in data management, data integrity, or data security, required.
